IN WHICH WE BOXEDWITHABUNNYTHISWEEK
Friday, June 13th, 2008 at 4:39pm by Vince NeilsteinAnother week in metal. Apparently some stuff happened.
- Louisana electro-core outfit IWRESTELEDABEARONCE signs with Century Media. Congrats!
- Disturbed’s new record debuts at #1, shifting over 1/4 of a million units and robbing us of our faith in humanity. Sigh.
- Metallica’s management demanded lukewarm reviews of an album preview be stripped from the Internet; band makes management do pushups.
- Live recordings of new Anthrax music with new singer Dan Nelson surfaced.
- Nachtmystium released an awesome new album and God Forbid an awesome new DVD.
- We wished we lived in Chicago so we could eat the world’s most metal burgers.
Have a good weekend everyone!

Three straight back-to-back #1 debuts, and after a weak Ten Thousand Fists that sounded like Tool, Linkin Park, and even Godsmack at times, probably their best album lyrically, vocally, and technically, being a fan I might be the only person to wonder if this is their zenith.
After reading the All Music review I just have to wonder how they can come back fighting with a fifth album.
electro-core? they’re more avant-garde metal than anything
Oh don’t worry Revrant, they’ll find a way to top Indestructible. Just give it a few years. ;)
Well, I did that with Believe and in some ways they regressed with Ten Thousand Fists, so I dunno, at least I can be happy with that always-reliable AllMusic, they offered up a really top notch review for the album, I love it when music reviewers are professional.
After all, twenty years from now, who are they going to quote? Some snide asshole from Rolling Stone or a professional, intelligent person actually taking something for what it is?
Then everyone can go over and laugh at the IGN review by that douchebag Rolling Stone reject.
Good times.
