THE HUMAN ABSTRACT POST NEW SONG ON THEIR MYSPACE PAGE

Well, the headline couldn’t really be anymore straightforward. Head over to The Human Abstract’s MySpace page to hear a brand new track, “Procession of the Fates,” from their forthcoming album, Midheaven, which drops August 19. It’s a catchy lil’ ditty that features a decent amount of the fretboard-on-fire shredding that THA fans (well, me at least) crave so very much from this band.

Also, check out the Midheaven cover art above. I don’t know if it was directly inspired by Christopher Nolan’s cinematic adaptation of Christopher Priest’s novel The Prestige or not, and if it IS an homage, I’m not entirely sure yet what the thematic significance is, but… it’s pretty cool I think.

The Human Abstract will be on the second half of this summer’s edition of The Warped Tour, too. We’ve heard rumblings that they’ll follow that up with some “more metal” tours… stay tuned for details.

I love the singer in this new song.

    Damn good song

There’s one part that really reminds me of AFI

  • Mezeppa

What a unique song, can’t wait for the new album. My band plays with them tomorrow!Yes!

i honestly think this sophomore album is gonna be a let down…what with A.J Minette’s departure,as well as Mike Nordeen. I’ll admit at one point they were pioneers, and a huge inspiration to any Metal band, yet i feel certain egos have grown too large, and the popularity of there previous album let there heads swell…then again…this is just an opinion of mine.

    van flip this band

I hate it when singers talk during a song, I don’t really care how profound or how relevant it is to the songs message, sing it please… otherwise the song was great.

mike nordeen did not record on nocturne, he only played live for a few tours, and he couldnt play for shit in the studio, they were forced to record with a studio musician bassist and find a new bass player to play live.

  • Christopher

@ blaheddkei: If Mike Nordeen couldn’t play for shit then why didn’t abstract just stick w/ Henry Selva (the bassist they used for touring before mike),or go back with Kenny Aerheart (there original bassist)…so instead they stuck w/ a SHITTY bass player for a year n’ a half!??…doesn’t really add up to me.

holy crap story of the year’s guitarist learned how to shred.

Mike Nordeen as a showman was amazing… as a bass player… not so much. Why did the band stick with him? because he was a great dude, and it work well on lives performances.

When did THA let him go? when he could not produce any good material for the new albun. How does the band feel?… like shit… It was for the music, not ego’s involved.

AJ quit and is currently in college. He was at the Whisky gogo performance on June 19th… and LOVED IT. Would THA be better with AJ than Tapley. A no brainer, AJ is “the’ man. Why is not happening? cuz AJ does not want to do that. PERIOD.

Last but not least Allen Eason, a bass player from Nashville, TN is a well respected 22 years old dude that has a die hard fan base in the South. His technique is impecable, and his compositions are versatile and fresh. He perfomed with several metal bands, has a solo project and also the NRE project with Nathan Ells, and yes he is a better player than Mike @ 25 years old, or Kenny (whom by the way said that himself when congratulate the guy at the Whisky)

There’s no bad blood among any of the old/new members.

… And There you have it ladies. STOP the fucking drama.

Suggestion… write the dudes and ask this question yourselves. Shorter, simplier and straight forward answers girls.

A.J. was the brainwork to allll of their songs.
