STAIND ARE STILL TOGETHER?

I guess so. And apparently they have a new album coming out in August. It’s called The Illusion of Progress.

I mean, they have to change that title. That’s just too easy a target right there.

ANYWAY, I think I’d be more offended by this news if I thought that I was going to in any way, shape, or form have to be exposed to this album. But since I was really under the impression that this band had broken up anyway, I’m pretty much over it. Yep. “See no evil, hear no evil,” that’s my new motto. Staind fans, enjoy and God bless. I’ll see if we can get some Projekt Revolution 2009 tickets to give away for some of you.

By the way, Vince and I used to refer to Staind as “Suckd.” But I think if we ever have to talk about them again (and I don’t see why we will, but let’s just pretend for a second), we should call them “Shit Staind.” Yeah. I like that.

Staind is like Chevelle – they wrote one song…then wrote the same song over and over and over and over and over and, well you get the picture.

Godsmack for people who think Godsmack is too heavy.

Your articles have this huge tendancy to improve my mood.

”Suckd”…”Shit Staind”…that’s pure fucking morning goodness (morning at 1 pm mwahaha).

    Keep ‘em coming Axl.

And I totally agree on the title.Whatever the hell they were thinking.I mean if they didn’t laugh this one off themselves I wonder what they cook their brains with.

Mainstream bands aren’t really known for their sense of humor though.Always taking themselves so fucking seriously each joke is like a death threat to them…

haha that may have been more insulting than just bashing them

    poor Staind…oh well ^_^

  • In all seriousness

    …it’s been awhile.

    Asshats.

The illusion of progress = anything they came out with after “Dysfunction”

Must be that time again eh? More talk about non-metal bands on a supposed metal site. ho-hum

  • The Pig In Zen

That’s honestly their album title? They took their biggest weakness and made it their album title? It’d be like if Metallica put out an album called “Fuck our Legacy!” or Motley Crue released “…Except This Time We Have Hep C”.

Could you guys just not post anything about Staind? Really, they’re just terrible, no more bald, massive-eyebrow, chubby, poorly shaven men crooning about how it’s “so far away”.

“Staind is like Chevelle – they wrote one song…then wrote the same song over and over and over and over and over and, well you get the picture.”

as opposed to bands that DON’T do that…?

@hegster90: I think it’s more common in the metal world that bands actually do evolve and change their sound, and that’s how they lose fans (while gaining others, of course). Look at Lunar Strain versus A Sense Of Purpose, for instance. Are those the same two albums?

The rehash formula is a lot more common for trash radio rock bands, not for the greats. I think metal bands are often more into the music and sound than the sales, and thus are more willing to experiment and perhaps “progress.”
