I'm not at ALL jingoistic. But, none of the nations who have mandatory 12 weeks off vacation and umpteen paid holidays are economic world powers or have a flag on the moon or end up saving other countries' asses when they get into a bind. Of course, they also don't usually invade countries for no good reason, but the former statement still stands. And I'd bet dollars to shit piles that we have the highest per capita ratio of IMmigrants to EMigrants of any nation. Yeah, we're FAR from perfect and have a dufus in the White House, but still...if France is invaded, who are they gonna get on the red phone? Canada? Denmark? Doubt it.
