THE HUMAN ABSTRACT’S “VIOLENT STRIKE”
Wednesday, July 2nd, 2008 at 11:21am by Axl RosenbergWell, no one can ever accuse The Human Abstract of losing their DIY sensibility: the band has a very good publicist and a team of hard working managers, but that’s not stopping drummer Brett Powell from sending out his own mass e-mails to the press every time the band has an update. And good for him, I say.
So. Mr. Powell’s latest e-mail alerted us to the fact that “A Violent Strike,” the opening track from the band’s forthcoming new album Midheaven, is now streaming on THA’s MySpace page. And I think the title tells you everything you need to know about the song.
Midheaven drops on August 19 on Hopeless Records. Trust me when I tell you that you haven’t heard the best material from this album yet – not even close.

I like this band a little more with each listen….and long live the shred, these guys certainly appreciate the fret board for what it was put on earth for!
Fucking awesome. This record is going to be epic.
This record is going to be awesome in so many ways.
On a side note- Don’t you think the lead singer for the band sounds like the screamer for Hawthorne Heights. In a way, I’m degrading my music credibility for saying that I’ve listened to Hawthorne Heights, BUT IT DOES. Look it up.
This record just surpass the wonder that was “Nocturne.” To be honest, i was afraid when i first heard that former shredder A.J. left the band. Let’s just say that my heart has once again settled and THA are coming on as strong as ever.
track sounds good, can’t wait for this release.
and yea, insane guitar work
