DAVID LEE ROTH’S “RUNNIN’ WITH THE DEVIL” VOCAL TRACK

This is old, but whatever. The lack of pitch-correction on this recording is beauteous… and just demonstrates why this song actually breathes. Recorded today it’d be robotic and boring.

Yes, this is old. But it does point out, also, that some music is not MEANT to be sung a capella. A lot of songs, sans the music behind them, would have other than great sounding vocals, but with the whole package, the vocals sound perfect.

I know I point this out everytime but…

Auto-Tune was a hardware device a LONG time ago. This still could have been pitch corrected. Hell, you can go ‘ghetto’ pitch correction on tape by simply adjusting the speed; it’ll sound shitty but that hasn’t stopped people from doing it in a pinch.

Bashing computer based recording is misguided. Bashing people who do it poorly, is a different story.
