YET ANOTHER REASON I WISH WE WENT TO WACKEN

Aside from having pretty much the best lineup of any festival EVER, Wacken just seems like a great fucking time, ya know? Nothing quite like 100,000 sweaty German metalheads congregating in one place — my Jew ass would fit in quite nicely, I’m sure.

This live footage of pagan/folk metallers Ensiferum just drives the point home. Look at how fucking amped that crowd is — it’s like Paganfest times 10. I can’t imagine anything being more fun.

    was a great festival on the whole, had a fantastic time, was well worth the flight from england, made friends with a load of canadians and americans that were camping next to me.

    Germany’s Wacken, France’s Hellfest and Holland’s Roadburn are the world’s top three metal fests. I hope to at least get the chance to go to one of them.

    Saw these guys at Paganfest in Cleveland…it just isnt the same in such a small venue. Fuck these guys are kickass.

    Is there a reason that this cant happen in the US? I mean, all the other groups of music have festivals that range from 5,000 to 100,000 thousand people. Is it because of Woodstock 99? Did Limp Bizkit really ruin the chance of a open air, 3 day weekend with camping metal festival in my country? Is their not one corporation that would put their name on it? Cause I for one think if a metal show like Waken were to make it over here, and all these die hard metal fans got their wish, nothing out of the sort would happen. Bonnaroo has arrests and deaths every year. It just goes with the show. There has to be someone who could make this happen and their name to not end in Osborne.
