Rush – If you can get past the vocals, Lifeson is one heck of a guitarist
Coheed and Cambria – Still not fully convinced the furry Puerto Rican isn’t a woman, but I love CO&CA nonetheless
Flyleaf – Tiny Lacey makes up for lackluster musicianship

REO Speedwagon – Kevin Cronin’s hair circa 1980 keep these flannel-wearing hard rockers on heavy rotation in my library, keep ridin’ the storm out!
Chevelle – Tool wannabes rock hard, but I’ve said it once and I’ll say it again, you gotta be in a Chevelle mood to listen to Chevelle
Head East – Who doesn’t love Head East?? Never Been Any Reason is one of those great songs that comes on the radio and you hear the opening riffs and instantly recognize them…then struggle to place the name of the song until the vocals kick in.

STONER ROCK
The Sword – Texans think they’re Norsemen and rock out retro style…I really like some of the acoustic parts of Gods of The Earth
Wolfmother – It’s Zeppelin…it’s Black Sabbath…it’s Andrew Stockdale’s white man afro…it’s Wolfmother!! Now a one-man band, hopefully Andy can recruit some new musicians to finish the long-awaited second album. Love their cover of Communication Breakdown

I have been made fun of for years for being such a hardcore Atreyu and Slipknot fan so this is awesome! Go Atreyu! Go Slipknot! Now for the rest:

Chalk another metal-and-Paramore-lover to the board. Only it’s ok, because I’m a girl. I’m MEANT to like pop and chart punk.

Also everyone seems to hate Slipknot but I can’t figure out why… the fact that a band with so many members has managed to stay together for a decade says a lot. Plus it’s just so awesome and catchy and shit.

Atreyu, even though people who like A7X disgust me.

36 Crazyfists (but only, oddly, RITF)

Also Maroon 5. And Linkin Park (not fucking Minutes though. Or that stuff they did with Jay Z. Shiiiit.) And Evanescence and Spineshank. Like I said – catchy.

Never got into Sepultura though. There, I said it.
