I am not entirely sure that I will pick this album up. Ascendancy caught my attention very quickly because it was a solid album. But as for The Crusade…

I was at a friends, when a song came on that I didnt recognize. I turned to him and asked “When did you put in the Metallica?” He followed this by turning to me with a very confused look on his face and replied “This is Trivium’s new album, not Metallica.”

I, a huge Trivium fan, could not tell the difference between Trivium and the new shit by Metallica. The only noticeable difference was that it didnt sound like Lars was banging on trash cans.

Since that point, I have been hesitant about anything to do with Trivium.

Summary: If I wanted to listen to new Metallica, I would go pick up Death Magnetic, and then follow this by putting a .45 slug in my head in embarrassment.

Looks like Corey Beaulieu has a bit of Dino From FF in that pic, either way this band started off shitty and will end shitty, i don’t get why people don’t tag on to how these guys were made fun of, but then they grew hair out ” so metal dude” so they became these metal gods, i’m tired of the lame “i learned a shit load of scales solos” The question is when will the fans get tired of it too, that day is coming with the second downfall of metal.

people need to give these guys a break. there are verrry young, and have already accomplished a whole lot in metal and made some solid releases that a lot of other metal bands years their senior have not done. the people who say they are overhyped..are getting suckered into the same hype and raising the bar to a ridiculous level, just sit back and listen to the damn record instead of getting caught up in the fact that their faces are everywhere.

I’m really tired of hearing all the hype surrounding Trivium. You suckered me once, I bought The Ascendency. I’ve had it for 2 years and I’ve never been able to get more than 4 or 5 tracks in. I’m tired of hearing how great this band is, they suck. I also noticed that no one seemed to notice that they were voted best breakthrough band twice by their douche fans in Revolver magazine. How the “f” can you be a break out band twice 2 years apart? You either broke through or you didn’t and these guys most definitely have not. Beware the hype for Shogun, I’m sure it will suck too.

I think I’m going to give these guys another chance too. I saw them a couple years ago with Lamb of God, and they sucked. They were all trashed, playing really sloppy and without any energy. It seems like they’re taking themselves more seriously these days, so maybe they’ve got their shit back together.

Trivium is better musicians then most of these shitty metal bands out there right now. Just because you think they sound like Metallica, what band doesn’t sound like Metallica or Slayer or Led Zeppelin (god forbid anyone does a remake) or Megadeath?

oh yaya another trivium release…which means having to see their faces on all the bloody metal and rock magazines everywhere i go.

its beyond me why so many people like this band which is completly overrated, unoriginal, metallica wannabe drival

i will openly admit that im not even gonna give the new album a chance because i dont like anything ive heard by them and i dont like them as people from the stuff ive seen and heard
