UNEARTH’S WILL BE DONE

Blabbermouth posted this fan-filmed (read: crappy quality) footage of Unearth performing a new song, “My Will be Done,” at Wacken a couple of weeks back. From what I can hear, it sounds more or less like, well, Unearth. Which isn’t a bad thing.

Unearth’s new album, The March, comes out October 14 on Metal Blade. It reunites the band the with longtime producer Adam D. after they recorded their last album, In the Eyes of Fire, with Terry Date. Since I prefer the band’s Adam D.-assisted work to Fire, I am choosing to be optimistic about this one.

I wonder how many different times the Adam D influenced pitched harmonic drop will be used? From the youtube first preview, sounds tight.

Holy shit i like that first riff. Actually I like the whole thing.

Love Unearth and that song is pretty awesome.

  • jacdn

this sounds really good. i think the new unearth is going to be really really good, i just got that feeling.

I love Unearth, and this song shreds. The riffs are awesome.

With that said, this song sounds like every other Unearth song. This is the difference between bands that innovate and bands that make the same album over and over again.

Fuck yes! Unearth broke some serious ground with The Oncoming Storm, and III was that step up that didn’t even seem possible. If the rest of this album A) Sticks to the bad assery of this song and B) Showcases Unearth’s already uncanny ability to progress, it will no doubt shit on a lot of the other metalcore stuff out right now. I hate using the word “metalcore”, but let’s face it.. they are one of few bands that fall under that category because they’re a mix of metal and hardcore, not because elitists hate them and have the undying desire to call anything made after ’92 metalcore.

That’s weird considering they’re from the same place as the band THY Will Be Done

I’m down for Unearth and this song sounds good but it is pretty much the same sound we’ve all heard from this band in the past. I agree with matt in the fact that they don’t seem to be changing anything. Will still be checking out this album.

The rhythm totally has a “spheres of madness” feel to it, mind you, I think thats a good thing

this band stands out for me from the other metalcore-blah stuff because they can actually right songs to really get you pumped and angry

  • banter

WOW i said right instead of write

  • Gabexmosh

Let’s just hope they don’t choose to promote the new one the same way they did the previous album, by releasing the three songs that were actually memorable first.

Still, I have to say I’m pretty excited now.

Holy shit! Was that a couple of Santa Clauses running across the screen? haha! Nice.

I’ve always loved Unearth. Amazing band!!! Their always full of energy and talent!
