Ashes of the Wake for me is easily one of the best metal albums of all time. It was as brilliant as The Black Album or And Justice For All or Reign in Blood or Caught Somewhere in Time. But I have heard a few tracks from the new LoG album and to me that is too heavy. The production was already a little compressed.

I want dynamic range, not just technical ability. I think he was a bad choice. This new album will just be a one volume noise blur.

i loved sacrament,maily because the sound was so clear!!
i would love to hear their old stuff re-recorded!!!
the old stuff is good,no doubt about that,but as said before some of the stuff is really unclear,compaired to sacrament!!!

ps cannibal corpse would be way better if they were either:
A. Dead
B.only performing to the deaf
C.sufering for explosive diarea(it would sound alot better than that “cookie monster” vocals)

Lamb of God is backFUCK YEAH… how would I like this album to sound like?

…I would like to hear Burn the Priest/New American Gospel (with BtP’s lower guitar key & NAG drop D) music combined with As the Palaces Burn and/or Ashes of the Wake vocals, and AotW’s/Sacrament’s sound quality.

Also….. whos better- who’s more intense? Violent? LOG, or Cannibal Corpse? SUUFFEEEERRRRRRRRR!!!!!!! MAKETHEMSUFFERMAKETHEMSUFFERMAKETHEMSUFFERFOREVER..

Mark did too much soloing on Sacrament, hes good but its not their style. Their guitars didn’t punch as much as palaces burn, american gospel or ashes. Machine tried to make randy sing instead of doing what he does best, scream. Hope they bring out something huge

Sacrament was very good not great. AotW was LoG and Machine at the pinnacle of both their careers so far. I hope the new album is as aggressive as their old stuff just with better production. Old versus new comparisons, for a band that has been around as long as LoG and has become as poplar as they have, have been an argument for everyone from Ozzy to Metallica. These opinions derive from the difference of when the first time you hear a band is. I was a fan of Metallica from the very beginning and I think everything since Cliff died has been a slow, sad decline. If someone heard Metallica for the first time when St Anger was released your opinion should differ vastly from mine (my first was Ride The Lightning). LoG are not that different from a popularity stand point as Metallica after …And Justice For All came out. After that album they made the decision to try appealing to an even more massive audience and went commercial. Let’s hope LoG do what Metallica did not and use their popularity to steer the public head on into metal instead of swerving out of the way like Metallica did.

After reading most of the comments (too lazy to read them all), I get a vibe that everyone either likes new LoG or old LoG. With As the Places burn being the teetering point. Am I the only one who thinks that every album is “heaven sent”, as the kids say these days. On a road trip I can go from Burn the Priest to Sacrament back to New American and so on without thinking about it. Yeah the production gets better as the band grows, but that happens to every band. When I first got Sacrament I was like most the people i talk to, and thought it wasn’t that great. But I gave it a few run threws and found out its a truly great album and I’m sure the new one will melt faces too. But that’s my comment, take it how you will.

My good friend Rich and I have a tradition that every time he’s in my car we roll the windows down and blast Laid To Rest and sing along and headband regardless of traffic. To add to the br00tality of that, it’s usually on the way to Taco Bell. Go us.
I loved fucking Ashes most of all, but honestly, LoG is a solid fuckin band. Anything they put out is gonna get eaten up and thoroughly enjoyed, and I can’t wait to partake. Who’s with me?
