NOW UNEARTH’S WILL BE DONE IN MUCH BETTER QUALITY

That live video of Unearth playing their new single, “My Will Be Done,” was useful for reassuring fans that, yes, the band has a new album coming out, but not much else. It was some kid’s cell phone bootleg, after all, so sound quality better than you’d find in, say, a bum’s asshole would have been asking too much.

Lucky for us, then, the band is now streaming the studio version of the song in all its aural awesomeness. And now that I’ve actually gotten to listen to it, I’m really excited for Unearth’s new album, The March. I mean, I like this song way more than anything from Unearth’s last album… just listen to those dueling guitar solos! Suh-weet.

Why can Unearth make this brand of metalcore sound so effortless when so many other bands try, and fail, to reproduce this sound?

The March drops October 14 on Metal Blade. I predict that “My Will Be Done” will have a very cool video sometime before that date arrives.

I usually don’t listen to a lot of metalcore, but I am gay for Unearth.

Very nice.Reminds me alot of Pre-Oncoming Storm Unearth. And even though I was not much of a fan of their stuff from that era, I have a feeling that The March is going to wind up as a candidate for Album of the Year.If the rest of the album is this solid, it is definitely a possibility.

Unearth truly are the epitome of metalcore, and in no way is that a bad thing.

I’m glad to see some love for Unearth here, both from MS and the commenters. I generally get mocked for having a metalcore fetish.

In The Eyes Of Fire I mostly shrugged off (except that epic riff in Sanctity Of Brothers, damn!), but The Oncoming Storm still gets a lot of play with me. This preview is pretty nice, gets very thrashy in the solo.

And a tour with PTH?! Fucking great!!

    fuckin’ awesome

Am I the only one who really dug III: In the Eyes of Fire?

  • http://www.conorschaefer.com/blog/ Conor

@Cisco: Yeah, probably. But I’d be interested in hearing more people defend it (or lambaste it).

i thought III was on par with the oncoming storm. It was just a little more dense, and the songs were maybe even better live than oncoming storm era unearth. it was like listening to vulgar display of power, its concise, its listenable over and over again, and heavy as fuck. Giles made unearth my favorite band, they really do the thrash thing well, and the solo in so it goes is so killer, along with the breakdown with the extra beat in the same song. if you need any further proof just listen to bled dry.
