Three things you can never have too much of: weed, blowjobs, and Justin K. Broadrick albums.

So even though Broadrick has already done some beyond-excellent work this year (check out my review of his collaboration with The Swans’ Jarboe here), you should still be going out your way to buy the newly released EP from Jesu, Why Are We Not Perfect? (Watch a fan-made video for the title track above).

There’s only five songs here – actually, three songs and two “alternative versions” of two of those three songs – but it’s the usual shoegazey goodness from Jesu. Densely layered and incredibly melancholy in tone, this shit isn’t really heavy in the aural sense (I actually find it incredibly relaxing to listen to – Broadrick shares MetalSucks’ love of Mary Jane, after all), but it’s sure as fuck heavy in the emotional sense.
