Got an awesome moshpit injury story?? Now’s your chance to profit from the excruciating pain you no doubt suffered at the hands of some giant fat dude throwing his weight around. In place of the Funny Photo Caption Contest this week (winners for last week’s will be announced soon, fret not), we’ve teamed up with Metal God Entertainment to offer you several incredible prize packages featuring the one, the only, the Metal God himself; Rob Halford, and his one-time band Fight.
Simply submit your injury story below — with a photo, if you happen to have one — and we’ll pick the winners next week!

I may be wrong, but I’m probably the only one here who actually saw Fight live. San Diego State Amphitheater, June 17, 1994. Why do I remember that date? Because it was the day of OJ Simpson’s slow speed chase and I missed it due to the show. Opening act Gary Hoey was booed (not by me) but the crowd loved Halford and Fight. It was rather funny to hear the “young ‘uns” who didn’t recognize the Priest songs…and this was 14 years ago!
Wait… Fight sucked. I mean not as bad as 2wo but they sucked alright.
I say no one without a pic should be allowed to win. I mean, I can pen a nice little story about getting fucked up, but who cares? Screenshot or it didn’t happen, nawmeen.

It is also easy to find a gruesome injury pic on the Internet. My problem with pic is as a dude I don’t exactly take many pics plus if I had it was like 14 years ago and I would of lost the shit by now anyways, so all some of us have is words. That doesn’t take away the fact that to us honest people that shit happened.
I’m not entering the contest with this because I don’t have pictures and the actual injury is pretty weak, but in college myself and a couple friends started a pit while watching another friend’s band play in their backyard. This led to a collision between my face and somebody’s forehead which split my eyebrow open pretty nicely. I wish I had pictures now because the amount of blood pouring out of this smallish eyebrow wound was hilarious. I eventually made it to the hospital at about 5 o’clock in the afternoon the next day after my hangover allowed to move more than a couple feet without being violently ill and the first thing that the guy prepping the wound for stitches says to me after i explain how it happened is, “The same thing happened to me at a Cannibal Corpse concert.”
I work part time as a security officer at concerts. I was working at ozzifest when slipknot went on. Well there was this 15 yr old punk talking trash to everyone about how tough he was. the music started and they threw him into the pit. It was only 30 seconds, if that ,when he came out glasses broken and one lens hanging over his mouth the other never found. he could not breathe and his arm was broken(the bone was sticking straight out of the skin. that was cool!!! )He could not walk straight enough even to save his own life and the only thing he keep on saying was,”holy shit what the f@$k just hit me.” I guess he will never thrash talk again.
Too bad no international entries are allowed. I broke my femur, have a rod in it that’s larger than 1 foot, and 4 cuts from surgery.

Damn, now I can’t go into detail about how I got smacked in the crotch and kicked headfirst into the circlepit at the Rockstar Mayhem fest that just passed through Toronto.

You’re not the only one here to see Fight…….I saw them in 93 or 94 with Voivod as an opener. Met Rob Halford that night as well as the rest of his band. Awesome show!!

In the UK so I can’t enter…. Been in loads of real good metal pits since my first gigs (Slayer, Pantera 94) been in some of the most best and brutal pits, exodus, sepultura, slayer, etc etc. But… my worst injury was dislocating 2 fingers at a 3IOB show in April this year, 2 of my finger joints are still swollen and they hurt like fuck when it’s cold!! Still, I did turn 30 this year so maybe I need to start taking it easy!
