So, there’s a new Disturbed video, sent in by world-famous Disturbed fanboy Revrant. Let’s see:

  • David “Yeshiva” Draiman looking tough: check.
  • Disturbed comparing themselves to Julius Caesar: check.

If it weren’t for Disturbed, this would actually be a pretty rad video. But alas.

    Alright, the song actually has a decent groove to it.

    But man, Draiman kills it for me. The guy’s voice is like nails on a chalkboard to me.

    And why does he take himself so seriously? Lighten the fuck up dude. He’s always got this scowl on his face like he needs to take a giant shit. And all the Vogue-posing he does with his hands is pretty laughable.

    Still a damn cool video as far as I’m concerned. The song leaves something to be desired, but the imagery is great.

    I agree with Key above, I wish some better bands had the money to do this.

    Dr J: No but I’m embarrassed by JayJay and sidric, they remind me of my retarded fifteen year old cousin, he listens to really hardcore shit and posts journals about it on MySpace, he has lots of hardcore metal MySpace friends too.

    TJ: I guess that’s understandable, I feel the same way about Ronnie and Robert, they make my skin crawl, though if it’s just because he doesn’t have cookie monster vocals, then bleh. ;) David looks far less serious by comparison to other metal singers, but you throw in Nickelback or something and he looks like he’s about to shit bricks.

    Key: I wish they did too, I could think of quite a few smaller bands that need bigger production for their videos, though really I wish more metal bands cared to put more effort into their videos, metal has made some really awesome videos in the past, it’s just most metal bands don’t care to make them.

    Considering this is one of my handful of favorite songs on the album I was glad to see it realized, aside from DWTS, Stricken, and Liberate I think Disturbed put more effort into their videos than most big metal bands. I mean look at what gets posted here, Jesus, it’s just a bunch of random imagery with no plot or even characters, and really hardcore playing with nothing else, look at Godsmack or (barring What I’ve Done)Linkin Park videos, again, bullshit.

    I’m actually surprised Vince didn’t despise it, a rare glimmer of objectivity Vince, nice.

    So most of metal these purposely avoids that, but there are some notable exceptions, Disturbed being one, and as for the “Ooo ah ah”, David hasn’t done that since then, he’s used animal noises since then, but since Believe it’s been nil, so that just shows you truly haven’t listened to the band.

    I’m tired as hell of everyone mocking the band for that when their own bands use even more gimmicky shit to differentiate themselves, so you can stuff it up your ass if your band pig squeals, has cookie monster vocals, yells and screams like they’re being gang raped by lions, or goes around cooing and ooo-ing like a dove(for you mainstream guys), honestly.

You claim disturbed is “good music” because they hit a #1 spot with some of their music. Record sales and chart positions is by no means a measure of how “good” a band is.

    I never could get into disturbed really. The vocals were always bleh in my opinion. The riffs are nothing to gawk at. The drumming is typical and the bass, well who gives a crap? I prefer their earlier stuff over the newer tho. Neat video none the less. I don’t want to get in the middle of this whole debate but i kinda have to admit revrant usually seems to be the center of the arguments lol Just chill out a little and let people say what they want. And i just cant tell you enough how the democrats vote which music makes it to the top of the charts.

    Ripping on Metallica makes sense… making fun of Bach falling… eh, it is what it is (has happened and could happen to anyone)… but bitching about disturbed only shows me that this entire site is full of crap. Disturbed is absolutely one of the very top metal bands to come out in the past 10 years. I do not see or hear what is not to like. The guitars are aggressive, the vocals are kick ass, and the drumming is anywhere from great to incredible… with the bass pulling it all together appropriately. I will acknowledge they have quite a bit of songs that are too similar to past songs in riffage, etc… but, hey, that is infinitely better than trying to “progress” and changing what you are/were (ala Metallica). The other band that I think has been kick as in the more modern era is Rammstein… and there, you can tell they worked hard the last few albums to not be re-hashing songs from their first albums… and yet, they leave me wishing they WOULD rehash more of that sound. So, whether you evolve or stay true you are always going to have some that will bitch about it. For me, it is all about this simple fact: Indestructible (the album) is their best one since their first.
