ARSIS LIVE FOOTAGE

Friday, August 22nd, 2008 at 2:00pm by

Our bro-bros at Metal Injection have posted live footage of Arsis performing in Baltimore on the Thrash and Burn Tour last week. “We are the Nightmare” comes from the album of the same name released earlier this year. The albums is one of my favorite of 2008 thus far, and will almost certainly end up in my year-end Top 10. Though the audio quality in this live clip is less than ideal, it’s surprisingly well-mixed and captures the sound of the band quite well.

Wow. Talk about a band with zero live energy. Hey Vince, why don’t you give the new Protest the Hero album a listen and tell me if you still like this death metal garbage, you prick.

That solo is so fucking sick! Arsis rules!!

This album might, just might, make my top 100 albums of the technical death metal genre of the first half of 2008. Just maybe. Syke, this shit blows.

Wow. Arsis sounds surprisingly good live, too bad I missed out on my chance at seeing them.

Anyways, It’s probably going to end up in my Top 5 albums for 2008. I love it that much!

Uh, i dunno who the fuck this CallousedFingers guy is, but apparently he’s not a very frequent viewer of this website.

Basically Arsis are from the same virtuoso metal school as the aforementioned band, but with the added benefit of not belonging to this ADD generation with their pitiful reactionary responses and scene posturing. Believe it or not, you don’t know everything. Especially about Vince’s 5/5 horns review of PROTEST THE HERO. Fuck me.

And Vince, you know I got your back homey.

I bought a thrash and burn ticket solely to see arsis and im more psyched than ever.

CallousedFingers: You’re a moron. They always talk about PTH on this site.
    Joe: Get off Vince’s cock.

@CallousedFingers: Obviously I’m going to disagree with you, because you’re ripping on Arsis, probably one of the greatest bands ever. But I will give you that bands should be pretty charged up live. Anyone who’s ever seen Korpiklaani live knows that a stage presence can make or break a live set.

But here I have to say that James is singing and playing constantly. What more do you want him to do? I think here the burden of getting charged up is more on the fans—and honestly I’ve never been disappointed in all the times I’ve seen Arsis live. In fact, on several occasions James has turned the mic over to fans and let them take care of the vocals, so he can headbang.

You don’t know shit about energy.

The new PTH album? Oh you mean the one that came out over 7 months ago?

    The new drummer kicks ass.
