A NEW SUPERGROUP YOU MIGHT ACTUALLY LIKE
Tuesday, August 26th, 2008 at 1:09pm by Vince Neilstein
If I told you there were a new supergroup on the block that includes John LaMacchia (Candiria), Jeff Caxide (Isis), Greg Puciato (The Dillinger Escape Plan) and Julie Christmas (Made Out of Babies / Battle of Mice), you’d think the result would be some kind of furious explosion of heavy, right?
Not so much. Spylacopa, the new band featuring the aforementioned lineup, will release their debut EP in November — but their music is just about the most mellow thing imaginable, at least judging from the all-instrumental “Out West” on their MySpace page. The band actually got their start back in 2000 as a conduit for LaMacchia’s more experimental side, and added the rest of the members along the way. The five-song debut EP has been in the works since 2006.
Even if the EP sounds nothing like “Out West” the release is sure to be intriguing, if only because you know that this cast of characters is not going to shit out a piece of crap. You can bet your ass it’ll be weird — and we like weird.
Stay tuned.

I really wouldnt define this group as “super”
i dont know man, those are three bands that although they may not be huge in any sort of mainstream sense are all very talented and very established in their own rights.
all these metal websites that are referring to this project as “new” are making me a little disgusted. looking forward to this release for several years now!
yes.
Definitely super.
Your just now finding out about Spylacopa? Thats fucking pathetic. Anyone whos anyone has known about this amazing project for litterally years. Way to step it up AGAIN metalsucks. Shows how unbeleaveably behind you guys can get.
What I’ve heard of Spylacopa has sounded…well, boring.

pwnd.
Anyone care to figure out what Disturds #1 Fan just said? Pal, Idont care what your taste in music is but youd better just be kidding when you dare even think the word nigger. Either that or youd better be black. Mouthing 6ff like that you bigotted little fuck in public, can, and in my neck of the woods, WILL get you killed. Stupid peice of shit.
revrant – you are really really scary. can anyone else hear that? oh no, wait, that’s the sound of my knees knocking together.
Hey revrant. Guess what? WE”RE GOING TO HAVE A BLACK PREZ!!! Hahahahahah! What’s the point of being an ignorant, faggot, pussy, bitch racist now? Not only are blacks never going to be slaves again, but we’re going to have one as the leader of our country. Isn’t it funny how history progresses and we learn to be more tolerant and open minded? Quit living in the past. You’re not scary. I know your one of those sick fucks who gets off on saying absurd shit to scare people and to seem different than other people. Sorry, I just don’t by it. It’s probably because your parents didn’t love you and who could blame them. All you are is a scared little kid crying for attention inside. Well maybe I’m ignorant for giving it to you, but you need to wake up and grow up before you find yourself in a situation you can’t handle. If your such a badass, go to your nearest all black neighborhood and scream what you feel about them as loud as you can and face up to them like a man instead of blogging about on the internet like the scared little girl that you are. I hate ignorance. I wish I were face to face with you right now.
O, and by the way, Spylacopa is a maserpiece!
That’s it? That’s all you have to say? How pathetic. You don’t even make any sense. You call me the faggot, but your the one who wants to put your face to my small penis. I hope you realize how stupid you just made yourself look. Cheers.
