GARY HOLT ALSO THOUGHT THAT ROB ZOMBIE’S REMAKE OF HALLOWEEN WAS A GOOD IDEA

Tuesday, September 2nd, 2008 at 12:36pm by Axl Rosenberg

Holy fucking shit, this is fucking disgraceful. The idea to re-record Bonded by Blood was already fucking pathetic, but this just nails the coffin shut on any coolness the “re-imagining” might have had. The cover art for the original Bonded by Blood looked cheap as fuck, but it looked cheap in that totally acceptable DIY-ish way. This just looks like crap. I know that Gary Holt has bills to pay and that, gas prices being what they are these days, staying out on the road, where he can fuck girls his daughter’s age, isn’t the easiest thing in the world; still, there’s nothing about this that doesn’t make me angry.

Gary, if you’re reading this, I just want you to know, sincerely, from the bottom of my heart, I hope your daughter sucks Lars Ulrich’s dick.

Thats got to be some of the most ugly-ass album art of the year. Its either this or the Dragonforce album cover…

  2. The Mighty Fucking Quinn says:

It could have been cool, but the fact that the angel looks like an elf from the Rudolph Christmas special that just shit his pants after seeing the Yeti kills it.Not a big Exodus fan, but my sympathies go out to those of you who are.

  3. The Mighty Fucking Quinn says:

Just need to point out that the link to the story about your friend fucking Gary Holt is extraordinarily entertaining by the way.

  4. TedTedPoleyPoley says:

i like the extra-douchey move of naming the album almost completely different than the original, as to fool some unsuspecting potential buyers :-D

  5. Rohit says:

I don’t know, I like the album art, its modern with an old school thrash attitude. The only problem is that it looks to refined in a bad cheesy way.

  6. Luke says:

First of all, what the fuck. Second of all, the text on the bottom of the cover totally rips off “There Will Be Blood”. Third of all, what the fuck. Fourth, as a whole, that’s one of the worst covers I’ve ever seen. Fifth, why the fuck would you re-record classic material? You just don’t do that.

  7. Damotello says:

Between this and that hilarious story I just read about your friend, Gary Holt seems like a douche of colossal proportions.

  8. ERiK says:

The cover reminds me of a Chucky movie for some reason.

  9. amy says:

what an embarrassment. hope he loses money.

those last three records are awesome. way to fuck it up.

  10. Tyler says:

i LOVE exodus but this sucks and is BEYOND gay! just start pumping out some new records so we can see if you can still write heavy material! this makes me ashamed to be into thrash!

  11. attackmole says:

I thought it was a Baloff tribute album. Different singers for each song, or so I heard. Fuck you guys, you’re overeacting. I’m curious to hear what it sounds like myself.

  12. steverazor says:

Why do fans bitch about artists rerecording classic albums and songs? The originals will still exist you whiney assholes. Besides, the original sounds like crap compared to the new technology available. Some of these are even superior to the originals (Dimmu’s Stormblast and Vader’s compilation XXV come to mind immediately). Hell – Testament’s Atlantic recordings sound like shit! Eric Peterson was justified in releasing First Strike Still Deadly – Atlantic would not release the master tapes for remastering.

  13. Armored Taco says:

I agree with Steverazor–some of you guys are toolbags for your unfounded and harsh criticism of this album. True metalheads would appreciate the fact that Exodus is adding modern production values to a classic and brilliant work such as BBB. Who the fuck are you to judge their intentions? Have you heard Destruction’s Thrash Anthems or as steverazor points out, Testament’s First Strike Still Deadly??? The songs sound fresh, new and totally kick ass. That does not take anything away from the brilliance of the originals. Listen, if you don’t want to hear the new cd, then fuck off and don’t buy it.
