NEW STRAPPING YOUNG LAD VIDEO?

Apparently there’s a new Strapping Young Lad video floating around the Interwebs for the song “Almost Again,” from 2006′s The New Black. The video is intensely dark and morose with twisted imagery that could come only from a demented mind like Downward Spiral-era Trent Reznor… Or, naturally, Devin Towsend. The timing of the video seems odd given the band broke up last year and their greatest hits collection 1994-2006: Chaos Years came out several months ago already… But hey, we’ll take it.

With the death of SYL came the demise of Devin’s skullet, but at least Ronnie James Dio and Karl Simon of The Gates of Slumber still carry the torch.

    i understand the mourning of Devin’s skullet… but why do we always overlook the force of nature that is Shane Embry of Napalm Death’s hair?

    It’s a shame that SYL is over. I only got to see them once and that was
    on the Alien tour. One of the most fun metal shows I’ve been too and it
    was decidedly the HEAVIEST show I’ve seen. Devin is a damn genius.

    I’m wondering if this video was in production before he decided to end the band
    and then it’s only out now cuz they figured they might as well finish it.
    It’s a nice cap on the lifespan of SYL too. Watching it made me feel like
    it was an era was coming to an end. Weird.

    holy fucking shit fucking holy. that was a bad ass song. I did not know a band member died. that song was fucking amazing. if you do not think that then go eat a bowl of poop. I have heard them in the past, but damn that was ill. PEACE
