IN THIS MOMENT’S VIDEO FOR “FOREVER” IS PURTY

David Brodsky videos are usually full of the kind of fucked-up imagery we’re accustomed to in the metal world – zombies, blood-thirsty beasts, patricide, population-leveling plagues, bats flying out of people’s mouths, scary old dudes licking young women in bondage gear, Devin Townsend in a tuxedo, etc. – so the fact that the video he just directed for In This Moment, “Forever,” is so sun-shiney is, at a glance, kind of a shock.

But Brodksy has what Hollywood types call “range,” and these visuals completely fit the song. And I know for a fact that Brodsky wants nothing more than to create an honorable cinematic representation of whatever band he’s working with at the moment (pun not intended), something that will satisfy the artist and their fans alike. Also, this video really, really makes me wanna go to the beach.

Century will release In This Moment’s new album, The Dream, next week.

    Huh. After all the bashing that In This Moment have taken on this site, and me never really liking any of their songs, I was not expecting to enjoy that song. It’s not brilliant, but it’s not bad, even if it is just a pseudo heavy rock song.

    I love how this video is basically the Maria Brink show (as it should be). The song wasn’t too bad though. I was pleasantly surprised by the quick shred at the end. These guys have basically become a slightly harder version of Evanescence.

    If David Brodsky made this for any purpose other than getting laid by that lead singer, then his attempts to recommission the 90′s pop aesthetic for METAL AUDIENCES was in vain. No, it most certainly was already. I guess he’ll have to atone by making another meathead deathcore video.

David Brodsky is a fucking overhyped hack who can’t shoot for shit. You want a good video and good visuals, how about Mark Romanek or David Fincher’s old music vids, want contemporary? Lex Hallaby or even that was a hack Darren Doane. At least Doane didn’t always suck!

    I’m just wondering…. Are all of you purist asses convinced you’ll become less masculine if you enjoy something that’s meant to be listened to by more than eight people? Don’t get me wrong, I’m all about the off the wall, more-underground-than-thou metal bands, but stop trying so damn hard. You just make yourselves look like ignorant shitheads. If a song has good, poppy hooks, it’s already better written than most shit out there. If you can’t enjoy it, at least give it respect.

    BARF! I was only able to listen about a minute of this made for radio crap before I tossed chunks. The video accentuates the crappiness of the song perfectly. What a load! Oh well someone has to tour with Metallica.

    CrapMcPoopin is right, the Brodsky video’s are not that great. Especially the video with the crappy animations was so horrible! He distorts colours and uses a million filters to make it look “professional”, but it looks terrible.

    you guys really obviously no idea how ugly that woman is in real life. i mean seriously, its amazing how well she sells something she has obviously never had. and her voice is like sandpaper behind your eyeballs live.

    tight band though, just horribly generic. guess that doesnt matter much when ozzys bass player is your manager.
