MUSE – “HOUSE OF THE RISING SUN”

I’m not sure where this version of Muse covering “House of the Rising Sun” originated (I think it was on a compilation), but it’s fucking awesome. And Muse is fucking awesome. Don’t front.

Muse OWN! It was on the The best UK Indie Cover’s album which also includes their cover of Cant Take Me Eye’s Off of You (Frankie Valli)! Dalai LMAO

  2. Vincesucks.net says:

I think Vince must be forgetting that he started a “metal” wesbite. Lately all ive been reading are posts of shitty pop rock bands. No wonder he does not like the new Trivium that much…..

  3. seveword says:

    ^^You’re stupid.
I don’t care for Muse, but coming to a blog to bitch about what’s on the blog is kind of missing the point.

  4. dthrasher says:

Yea I agree with Vincesucks, I mean just look at the last 5-10 posts, they are all about horrible pop rock bands: Cynic, Gojira, Amon Amarth, Norther, Metal Church, Intronaut, Textures….. Fuck those guys, Trivium is where the REAL METAL is.

On the more serious side, listening to metal doesn’t preclude you from listening to other genres as well, and Muse is definitely one of the better “pop” acts around.

  5. Paul D says:

Yeah, except there’s not a damn thing “pop” about Muse.

    They fucking rock.

    Observe, and be chastised:

    Muse – “Dead Star”

OMG! The guy actually sings instead of just growling like a muppet! What a novel idea!

  6. smasherdevourerr says:

wtf dthrasher. please explain to me how cynic, gojira, amon amarth and metal church are ‘pop rock’ bands. if these are the bands that play on your local ‘pop’ radio station, then please let me know where you live so i can move there.

  7. smasherdevourerr says:

and trivium is where the ‘real metal’ is? nice. you must be really looking forward to the next band that hot topic tells you is ‘real metal’.

  8. banter says:

    keep posting about muse

they are miles ahead of anything trivium will ever be anyway!

  9. drew says:

hey… smasherdevourerr…. I’m pretty sure that’s sarcasm I see flowing from dthrasher’s righteous mouth. I know it doesn’t translate well on the net, but read between the lines a bit.

  10. Paul D, I’ve been into Muse for a little bit and took your advice and checked out
the Dark Star vid. I never heard that song before, but DAMN! That is an awesome tune.
It’s too bad more people can’t have a bit of an open mind to more bands like Muse that
are tearing down the boundries of music genres.
Ikilledabearonce, Dillinger Escape Plan I mean, I don’t like EVERY song by any of these
bands, but I like a lot of their material and appreciate that they all do not give a flying fuck about perceived boundaries. They just do what they want. Now that is a metal attitude and you gotta appreciate that. Not every band has to sound like Slayer to be cool.

  11. Paul D says:

Yeah, “Dead Star” is a great song. It only appeared on, oddly enough, the “Dead Star EP” which is a little hard to come by in the U.S. I’ve been outbid several times for copies on eBay.

To get a reasonable MP3 I could put on my iPod, I had to torrent the video and rip the audio from it. Not the best quality, I know, but the sheer awesomeness of the song goes a long way.

  12. Dannibal says:

Muse fucking owns! I too checked out “dead star” a badass song! Their album “Absolution” is great as a whole. Something you can throw in the stereo and not bother with changing tracks.

  13. love this song!!!!!!
