The fact that they had to hire TWO vocalists to replace one truly is a testament to the talent of Christian Alvestam. I just hope that Alvestam’s depature isn’t quality music’s depature too.

Holographic felt to me like it was an hour of trying to rewrite “The Illusionist” and perhaps “Kaleidoscopic God.” As much as I love, love, love the sound of Älvestam’s voice, this band does need a change, because they’re just going to rehash if they stay with him.

I’d love to know more about the terms of his leaving. But I guess it’s “personal reasons,” huh?

This sounds like a really good idea. Not only will it be easier to pull off the songs live but this adds so much potential for vocal innovation on their next albums! That’s something to get excited about!

I dunno man….I just don’t know. I didn’t think the clean vocals sounded good enough. The growl was close enough to be Scar Symmetry but I didn’t care for the Lars’ voice as much. Maybe it’ll be better on the next album.

Well, it sounds like a good idea. It also sounds like one of those ideas that sounds great at the time but then you find out that eating dog food out of a bum’s asshole may lead to less than desired digestive problems.

All reminiscing aside, I do agree with the fact that two guys taking over and doing a good job would be far better than one guy failing. Hopefully they take this opportunity and do something positive with it. I’d definitely hate to see them go.

You’re funny, Vinnie. Comparing Scar Symmetry to VH and AC/DC is somewhere akin to comparing a gnat with an eagle. (I guess the Skid Row comparison would be a swallow.)
