There are people in this world who are spoon fed what they see on any corporate media based website or news show. They swallow it down thinking that, all of the sudden, they are seasoned political analysists. I still want to know how the fuck racism is ok sometimes, but not at others, specifically directed at Dallas’ comment about wanting people to show up at their concerts with “Nigger Go Home” signs.

Dallas: I understand that and it sounds like you understand what I was saying about the objectivity provided being outside of it. I guess my issue is just that the bias on both sides is doing nothing but fucking things up. And it’s irritating when the bias on one side is allowed for one reason for another even though it’s just as destructive.

This was only compounded by the passing of The Patriot Act. These two bills give ultimate power to the government in both over the privacy of its people, and now the economic system that was left unattended to its own devices. The Amercian public had no say on the issue. The only voice that we have is a vote. So use it.

I’m not saying your objectivity isn’t healthy, but I am saying that the connections black people make with certain comments like “that one” are different than the connections a white person will. I don’t think most white people are racist, but I do have a real idea of what it feels like to have to live with prejudice as common place being black. That sort of thing is ingrained in people culturally.

I said what I said in anger, and I gave McCain more shit than he deserves and the blog got away from me. I admit that but the issue of bigotry underlying our society is still a strong one. The fact that people want to act like bigotry doesn’t still affect our society is not a solid and realistic world view. Bigotry exists in all countries but in America it’s culturally more poignant at this time.

I feel bad for white culture right now because it’s being taken over by all of the ‘ghetto’, ethnic BS that is touted out there. And white america is looked at as the enemy which is complete BS. So the road goes both ways and I’m in no way inferring that white people are to blame. I love white people! I can walk on the same side of the street as them :)

It’s the same thing here. I may be white, but I’d argue that a black person who has experienced racism is even more biased when considering the subject than I would be. It’s just as much of a bias to find it in something where it doesn’t actually exist as it is to say it doesn’t exist at all. Once again, the middle ground is where the truth lies but everyone wants to skirt the outer edges.

Sometimes experience is king. But there’s also something to be said for the clear view from the outside.

They both suck. I don’t want a socialist who attended a racist church for 20 years and denies ever hearing anything racist while attending said church or an OLD socialist who refers to a different race as gooks for president.
