THE FACELESS: “COLDLY CALCULATED” TO ROCK YOUR ASS OFF

Wednesday, October 15th, 2008 at 4:00pm by

Prog/death/thrash/jazz/spazz/generally better than youcore metallers The Faceless have posted a new song, “Coldly Calculated Design,” on their MySpace page. It’s the first fully mastered song from the band’s new album, Planetary Duality (Sumerian), to be released for public consumption (A demo of another song, “The Ancient Covenant,” was released in June, and  Metal Injection captured footage of the band playing yet another new track, “Xenochrist,” in July.).

This shit is so crazy I literally can’t even wrap my brain around it unless I’m on some kind of hallucinogenic. Luckily, I’m usually on some kind of hallucinogenic, so that’s not much of a problem for me.

Planetary Duality will stab you to death with its dick on November 11.

God damn I can’t wait to see these guys with Lamb of God. That is sure to be the best concert of the year for me.

The new shit seems a lot more technical than the last album. Good shit all around though.

    BTW..

Doesn’t the dude on the right look like the kid from Dazed and Confused?

Sorry, their stuff sucks. Just not anything I want to listen to.

This is the best thing I’ve heard all year. Planetary Duality is going to be the best cd of the year, if not the decade. And that’s judging from the 3 songs I’ve heard from it.

Hmm…wonder if Viking is in this shite band

    lolz.

Album of the decade, lmao. I don’t think so. I think that would have to go to one of these five:
    Mastodon – Blood Mountain
    BTBAM – Colors
Avenged Sevenfold – Waking The Fallen
Brand New – The Devil and God Are Raging Inside Me
Explosions In The Sky – All Of A Sudden, I Miss Everyone

  • Buh?

A mastered version of ‘The Ancient Covenant’ seems to now be up as well. These are both pretty good, but I thought ‘Xenochrist’ sounded more promising. I’m not yet sold on all the little Cynic-esque voice modulation.

    Luke, you’re a faggot.
