Listened to this earlier. I’m a newcomer to death metal really, i’m only just getting into the staple bands such as Decapitated, Obituary and Death, but I could tell that this was a great fucking album. The whole thing was crushingly heavy and technical and yet very accessible.

I agree for sure, the new psycroptic is great. The title track has such an amazing structure/flow to it.

But as far as technical death metal goes, although a lesser known band, lets not forget the band “Incinerate.” Holy damn is their new album sweet…and all the aforementioned bands.

Very impressed/pleased with this album. It’s extremely hard to stand out now with so many good bands doing mostly the same thing, but songs like Horde in Devolution and
Ob(servant) really deliver to meet the standard for today’s tech-metal bands.
Awesome review too.

the band also isn’t afraid of tonality, but don’t drag it from the robbed crypt of Swedish death metal that metalcore bands have been plundering since the late 90s.

This is why I read MetalSucks. Great review. I love this band hard, and can’t wait to pick up Ob(Servant).

Haven’t heard this one yet, but I’m tempted.
I agree that Arsis and Origin put out “ridiculously strong” albums this year. As for Neuraxis? Ridiculously average. Trilateral Progression was tits, though.
