IT’S FUNNY TO THINK THAT FEAR FACTORY WERE ONCE ONE OF THE BIGGEST METAL BANDS IN THE WORLD

But this band sure did know how to rip shit up live. It’s a slow news day. Here’s Fear Factory playing “Zero Signal” live in ’98.

fear factory is awesome. it’s disheartening that they fell apart and lost all their cred. those guy really knew how to rock out hard. they’re one of the first metal bands i ever listened to and demanufacture is still a classic.

I used to love these guys, as they were one of the first heavier bands I ever got into.

I happened to hear ‘Replica’ the other day, and realize now that they weren’t really very good. Damn.

Memories! Ah, the good old days of the 90s. I saw them live on that tour, and they were really good live. So nostalgic, we well all be happy in 5 years when the nostalgia tours start.

They were the shit when i was in school-they were the slipknot of the mid 90′s-kerrapp! had to mention them in every issue for what felt like two years-zero signal still rules though!

  • Barry

Holy crap I forgot how much Demanufacture ruled! I’m going to spin that now.

Man is obselete… fuck man, I still dig Fear Factory, and is bad as the song was, the Cars cover song was my 4 year olds gateway drug to the wonderful world of metal.

They were so good live – will never forget that.

Say what you will about them post-Dino, but I just wish they’d get back together and record another album, and stop playing in their shitty shitty SHITTY (AOTW isn’t that shitty though) side projects.

Its not funny to me that they were at the top of the game at onepoint, I think if you put the original lineup back on stage right now they would still destroy half of these genre hopping trend chasing wannabes that aregoing right now.

i really do not understand the hype surrounding this band. sounds like boring generic nu metal to me. maybe they were the first ones to do that. but being the first one to suck in a whole new way shouldn’t earn you respect. also, they don’t look so great live. dino jumping up and down like a punk rocker looks like a disaster waiting to happen.

Fear Factory and Pantera led me to an epihpany this weekend regarding what a half-jock 90′s metal douchebag I am. Fear Factory sound like Dino made a bet with himself: “How famous can I get from playing the same riff for an entire album?” That said, Fear Factory is fucking awesome. They grab me by my douche-solution filled heart and won’t let go. That song they did, Martyr, which focuses on Burton telling Jesus to “suffer, bastard”? Fuck yes.

Also, remember when Limp Bizkit did their first record, and Dino and Christian guested on one of the “songs”? I’m pretty dismayed that I remember it, I can tell you that.

Fear Factory was, when i first got into metal, really bad because my first metal band was Dead to Fall which I forced myself to listen to because I was a ska kid and once you go down that road, theres no turning back haha. And once I got into more metal i still didnt like them. So, you know, boohoo. Go cry. Off my property.

But seriously, fuckin love this band. Its a shame my friend from school who had that one fear factory shirt with the pot leaf on it dropped out of school… or maybe it was a pantera shirt. idk…w/e

Dino jumped. JUMPED. he’s about 800 lbs. That’s why they’re awesome. 800 lb jumping spanish dude.
