SAD SACK STEVEN ADLER: “I WANT MY BEST FRIEND SLASH BACK.”

Monday, October 27th, 2008 at 11:55am by

Are you ready to see some the epitome of the fallen rock star? We thought so.

Original Guns N’ Roses drummer Steven “Sad Sack” Adler is featured on this season’s Celebrity Rehab on VH1. The first episode, which aired this past Thursday, features a sobbing Steven Adler sucking in bong hits at home while moaning about wanting to die, admitting shooting coke into his neck because he’s “got good veins” there, sneaking off to buy crack, and sobbing “I want my best friend Slash back. ‘Cause he means everything in the world to me.” H

Mothers and fathers in the MS readership (I know you’re out there); just show your kids this 4 minute clip instead of whatever schlock anti-drug propaganda they get in school, won’t you?

I got a chance to watch the episode this weekend. Truly depressing. Here’s hoping he can get clean…

I can’t even watch this. Poor guy. What kind of unlucky bastard gets fired from GNR…for drugs?!?!?

Damn, we all heard Alder was a junkie, but holy shit that guy is fucked up. The stroke isn’t helping his speech either. It’s too bad, I really liked his drumming on Appetite and the energy he brought to their live performances, but you can see that he’s a total wreck….even by rockstar standards.

WTF! Hendrix and Joplin OD but this giant douche is shooting coke into his neck and still walking around, a hemorroid on the ass of society? Just more proof that there is no god.

Won’t lie, love this show and good for Steven for finally trying to grow up.

I actually feel pretty sorry for him. He was the youngest in the band, so they’d always give him a bit of a hard time anyway. In the early days, three of them did heroin and Izzy was a dealer. Steven and Izzy seem to be the worst off these says, Steven’s barely alive and Izzy’s just fallen off the map.

enemyofgod72? Wow. You sound like a “real compassionate person”. Not the least judgemental…. Your name says it all.

@Minnie-Soda I’ve got plenty of compassion but unlike my believeing brethren I don’t believe all life is precious. I believe in natural selection. If someone isn’t smart enough to know you shouldn’t shoot coke into your fucking neck then oh well you may be thinned from the herd. I just can’t feel sorry for someone who had it all and chose to destroy himself. It’s sad but if he didn’t care about himself why should I?

He has a PROBLEM, an addiction. When someone’s that low it in they’ll do anything to get the drug in their body. why do you think those people make stupid impulsive decisions like that? The drugs fuck with their brain and how our brain is SUPPOSED to work, that’s WHY drugs are so harmful in the first place, they just screw with your brain and all of its natural processes and everything. It’s downright cruel to talk about anyone like that. Drug addicts need help. If they make it through then they have the same chances to make something of themselves as the rest of us. They are humans too. I’m tired of hearing people talk about them like once they fuck up they have no chance or room to redeem themselves. I know this first hand because i’ve seen my dad rise up from an addiction, get a job and become a better father than anyone could have imagined. Have a bit of empathy. I’m sorry, but it’s a bit more complicated and maybe if people were more educated and not so fucking closed minded then they’d care a bit more about people like Steven.
