I strongly agree with h. dizzle and anyone. I am too a fan that may just be on a different level than just going for a ‘heavy’ appeal. I also believe that music has no limits but it is a form of expression. Lost and Found may have been just about their best album as far as depth and creativity is concerned. I am big fan of progressive rock and progressive metal. I feel they really got in touch with that genre in this album.

I pretty much agree with h.dizzle. L&F is my favorite Mudvayne album. But then again I am not a sheep, and I don’t shit my pants when a band goes from “uber heavy” to just “heavy”.

Personally, I agree with Jesse. It ticks me off that Ryan’s bass is sometimes not even audible in most of Mudvayne’s music since Lost And Found. I still hope to be able to play bass like he can one day, but how’m I supposed to be motivated when their music has become so streamlined? This new CD is almost as linear as Breaking Benjamin’s “Phobia” album was. I’m really hoping they go back to their old style soon, if they aren’t done with music after this. I wouldn’t be surprised, honestly. They’ve been going strong for a while. Bout time to retire, guys? Thanks for L.D.50 and The End of All Things To Come.

Okay I’ve been a fan for a while. I personnaly am a fan of all of Mudvayne work. I just dont agree with the oh its not heavy enough or all these cleches. The production value alone from ld 50 to present is much much better. My personal view on the the band is from every album to the next theres always been different themes, and has shown a beter growth. Idk im a fan on a different level then oh this is heavy and all that b.s. Music has no limits just expression.

Ryan Martini and Matthew McDonough ARE Mudvayne (Ryan being the soul reason I got into them AND started playing bass). Without them, you just have HellYeah, and we all know how that went. Its a shame, they are killing their golden geese.

I’ve gotta agree with pretty much everyone else on this matter. MuDvAyNe used to be awesome, but they’ve reduced themselves to a generic radio rock band. That’s too bad, because they used to have a very distinct sound and were one of the reasons I really got into metal.

But that’s just how a lot of bands progress. Start as a metal band, gain a fanbase, exploit the fanbase to get on the radio, then turn your back on the original fans in favor of making more money and making record label execs happy. That’s business. I won’t fault them for wanting to be financially secure, but I won’t feel bad about not buying the new album(s), unless there are some other songs that are actually worth listening to.

As an aside, I’m surprised nobody mentioned “Never Enough” was the same title as that horrible Five Finger Death Punch song.

I have to agree with most everyone else, LD 50 was brutal and TEOATTC was less brutal but still good. The success of the latter brought radio flocking to them but since they’ve written for radio which is never good. I don’t even know how they can fit Dig or Death Blooms into a live set with the newer crap it just doesn’t even sound like the same band.

I always found these guys to be uninteresting, nu-metal. I know several people who’s musical opinion I respect say they love Mudvayne, but I just don’t see the attraction.

Maybe I haven’t heard the “good” songs by Mudvayne, but I always clumped them together with the Disturbed/Godsmack sound that I don’t care for.

Mudvayne was decent for two albums.

Then Lost and Found came out and i lost all interest… not like i had much by this point anyway.

Meh..

I like the introduction of lead guitar, but these last two songs haven’t really done much for me. “Do What You Do” sounds almost exactly like everything on Lost & Found. I’m pretty much there with the rest of you other than the fact that I liked The End of All Things to Come more than LD50. I think they took a really dark turn on that album and really showed their chops rhythmically and vocally. There were some songs on there that had some really soaring choruses and would turn around a slap you in the face with some good heavy shit to round the songs out.

LD50 was good, but as Gregg said when The End of All Things to Come was in it’s infancy, they were trying to hard to play over each other rather than flowing together yet still shining at their own times.

I’m really fucking disappointed with how Ryan’s been thrown to the back of the bus in the rhythm section. That man is a genius on the bass and was always the biggest reason I liked Mudvayne to begin with. He is easily the most talented member in the band and is highly underrated for what he does. It’s kind of like Marc Rizzo in his Ill Nino years. He’s a fucking madman on the guitar, yet he was forced to play nu-metal to get his name out there.

Everything Else After these two: Weak.

This track sounds like Mudvayne trying to be Staind and failing. To be honest, if they succeeded it would be probly suck even more. Bring back the Bugles dude.

I was kind of dissapointed with Lost & Found, but used to be really into their old, heavier stuff.

I’d rather they went back to their old spazzy ways than what they’ve been doing lately, but this isn’t the worst song in the world, either. It’s just not what they used to do.

if a Mudvyne song is playing on the radio, I’ll usually listen to it. The only album I bought was The End Of All Things To Come which was okay at best.

It’s pretty cool. I’ve never heard anything other then the uber-heavy stuff, so it’s cool that they are able to do something a tad softer than that.
