ALSO, LIVING COLOUR RULE

Seriously, I think I can safely speak for both Vince and myself when I say that Living Colour are one of our top five desert island bands of any genre. Everything about Living Colour rules. We’ve seen them live a bunch of times, and with one very notable exception, they’ve killed live each and every time. I’d bitch that they’re not an arena rock-level band when so many of their lesser peers are, but, honestly, I’m kinda happy that I can still go see them play smaller venues. Because Living Colour shows are like aural blowjobs.

The band has a new concert DVD coming out on November 11. Filmed in Paris, it’s titled – wait for it – The Paris Concert. Below, check out a clip of “Go Away,” which might be one of my favorite album openers of all time.

Fuck. Yes.

One of my favorite bands. Although I think CRACKDUST has one up on them:

I can honestly say that these guys are my favorite death metal band from BOTSWANA, AFRICA (or should I say, “BLACK METAL”?).

    Two things:

    1. why does that damn myspace player start playing automatically when it loads? It confuses and enrages me. slightly.

    2. do musicians have problems with playing around their hair? like, does hair ever get long enough to be more bothersome than it’s worth?

    I lied. Three things.

    3. These guys rock.

Living Colour killed it! A really underrated band.

Living Colour is unfuckwithable. Though I’m a bigger fan of the Muzz Skillings era… “Pride” is my favorite song by them, with the dissonance in the riff and the way the bass comes in in that last verse. “Solace of You” is one of my favorite ballads ever, it sounds like it could be on “Graceland.” Finally, they get crazy props from me for outdoing the Talking Heads on the song “Memories Can’t Wait.”

Oh, and “Glamour Boys” is one of the best songs about douchebags ever… Vernon Reid can play any style convincingly. It’s uncanny.
