HACRIDE ARE PERTURBED

So a lot of you have been emailing us lately about this band Hacride, a really solid French progressive metal band very much in the Meshuggah / Textures / Benea Reach school. I think they’re pretty F’n cool, even if not entirely original (see also: those bands). Here’s the trippy Aronofsky-esque video for their song “Perturbed.”

This band is awesome. That’s definitely my favorite song of theirs, but the track ‘Zambra’ off the same album (Amoeba) is one of the most original things I’ve ever heard.

  2. As original as a cover.

Interestingly you should mention that, Benea Reach have a video that’s without a doubt inspired by Aronofsky’s The Fountain:

You’re going to accuse another band of being derivative of a sound, and then praise Textures? that is easily the most boring, derivative, unoriginal metal band i’ve heard in years. The mind boggles.

HEAVY metal and a naked chick. I’m sold. Thanks to Gojira the french metal scene is getting some well deserved attention. Unfortunately that means the music industry will soon destroy it.
