I was a teenager when MTV was first televised! It blew everyone over! It probably could compare to the way Wii has addicted everyone today. What made MTV so great was the intriguing and innovating new bands. It played everything all jumbled up into one playlist. They had the best five VJs and the interviews they had with the bands was the greatest! MTV can never compare to what it was because the music can no longer be revolutionary or take a bold step to be different. The need to sell records by the music industry has overshadowed what made MTV so great. One style, one sound, one format is what you get today. You might as well be counting sheep, so turn off the imposter MTV and catch up on some Z’s.

Thanks to Youtube, I don’t have to worry about MTV “airing music videos again”. I can filter out the crap and watch the good stuff.

MTV hasn’t been worth a fuck for over a decade, ever since they ended Beavis and Butt-head in 1997.

And I think that last ad is actually supposed to be a visual of the Flaming Lips’ “She Don’t Use Jelly” (since ’she’ in the song uses vasaline on her toast or something like that). You know, to hook in those wacky indie kids….

It’s pathetic to me that mtv is still called mtv, they stopped having much of anything to do with music years ago. Then they brought us those jackasses on Jackass or do I have to say retards to highlight my disdain. Whoever is in charge over there should be shot in the nuts and forced to watch Viva la Bam for eternity. Mtv is a joke, a bad joke.

I went on to the site with hope. It would be kind of cool for a musicvideo-only website similar to youtube but with better video quality and most of all sound quality (since some youtube have such poor quality I often have to turn the sound way up and then get blasted when I click on to another video), so I went to the search bar and put in Brother Von Doom just to see how it played, but it wasn’t on there. OK, they’re a semi-obscure pretty new band. I searched Dillinger Escape plan. Again nothing. So I searched Mastodon, they’re signed to Warner for god sakes, but still nothing. So I put in Slayer, and amazingly I got nothing. Nothing for slayer? This sites a joke.

I may be wrong, but I’m pretty sure MTV Music is just a website they are trying to bill as the Hulu of music videos. There is no new TV channel. They already have a channel that plays videos called MTV Hits.

On the other hand, it actually works and the quality is really good. If you want a fucked up version of some live song recorded with someone’s cell phone, youtube is perfect. For anything other than that this thing’s surprisingly good.
