Oh man, I totally dig Blues Saraceno. He has a killer tone, is an amazing technician and actually has a very unique style. He also seems to have an endless well of mind blowing solo parts. Kind of combines blues, metal and some fingerpicking stuff. From what I recall, he was like 16 years old when his first CD came out. Not sure about you, but when i was 16, I was working at a grocery store trying to save enough dough to buy the POS Peavy rage. This guys was recording his own solo albums before the days of GarageBand. AND, I actually read an interview with Dimebag himself that raved about Blues), not a bad endorsement. As a guitar player I can totally appreciate him. I can see how a laymen might not be into his stuff, but oh well. He’s a guitar players guitarist I suppose. If I sound like a fanboy, it’s because I am, he rocks. I suggest you open your ears a bit and give it another listen.

I always liked Blues. I wondered what happened to him and Joey Tafolla. Now Tafolla was BORING.
Anyone remember Guy Mann Dude? There were literally thousands of solo shredders back in the 80s, and only a few survived.

I have both of Blues Saraceno’s albums. I thought I was the only person in the world who knew who he was. I bought them for 99 cents a piece in a bargain bin (roll the dice baby!). What do you figure he’s up to these days? Goddamn now I am reminiscing about high school summer break…
