MUSE IN THE WATCHMEN TRAILER
Friday, November 14th, 2008 at 1:01pm by Axl RosenbergI don’t know if it’s the work of director Zack Snyder or his marketing peeps that make the decision as to what music will appear in the trailers for his films, but this much is true: the use of metal-friendly bands sure does take this ad campaigns a long way (Iann Robinson has a cameo – as a zombie! – in Snyder’s Dawn of the Dead remake, so at the very least, I assume that Snyder has some knowledge of all things metal.). First there was the trailer for 300, which was practically a Nine Inch Nails video; then there was this summer’s Watchmen teaser, which made use of the Smashing Pumpkins; and now comes the full trailer for Watchmen, which features Muse’s awesome “Take a Bow.” And while Muse isn’t exactly metal, we still think you should care.

This was a novel for the adults,not your typical Avengers,or x-men…i truly think this is going to be epic (the novel was amazing) & the music for the soundtrack sounds killer.
I think this’ll be one of the best superhero movies of all time, no discussion necessary

Why else would they let a hack like Snyder direct? Its NOTHING like the GN. At All. Romero HATED the DotD remake. as did an self qespecting horror fan. Just as any real fan of comics will hate this Hollywood bastardization of The Watchmen. Everyday I have people who come to the comic shop I work in telling me how much this and any other Alan Moore masterwork should be left alone and not made into movies. Zack Synder is and always will be a fucking HACK and in my personal experiance, a HUGE duche chewer. (met him at both the premeir of 300 and Dawn Of The Dead, both times, I wanted to kick his balls in.) By Saying some one of seris like Watchmen is in any way more mature than the 40+ years of The X-men teaching kids about aceptance and equality for all people is proof, ya dont know shit about comics. – never piss off a nerd.
Wow, finally there is an upcoming movie that looks epic and amazing. That is the most thrilling preview since the first Dark Knight trailer was released!!! I CANNOT WAIT!!! Beautiful and Epic!!

First of all, the metal nerd, you’re a fucking idiot. Second of all, the graphic novel is absolutely fan-fucking-tastic. Possibly my favorite “book” of all time. Third of all, Dawn of the Dead (Snyder’s remake) was a fucking awesome movie, and 300 was pretty damn good as well. I have full faith in this guy, he has yet to let me down. Fourth of all, this movie is going to be EPIC. Fifth of all, nice choice on the Pumpkins song in the first trailer. Badass.
P.S. I’m pretty sure Mastodon adapted a few of their ideas and song titles from the novel, which makes me love them even more.

I’m waiting with baited breath for this one. Loved the graphic novel. I even named my thrash band, The Comedienz, after one of the characters in the book. I have not read the story in over 20 years and frankly don’t remember much about it so the movie should come as a surprise.
As far as Zack Snyder is concerned, I am lukewarm on him. I actually liked the Dawn of the Dead remake, which I went into expecting to hate as the original is one of my all-time favorite films. Of course, running zombies are completely ridiculous. I cannot say I enjoyed 300, however, because I have fallen asleep within 30 minutes both times I tried to watch it.
Any news on if the lawsuit between the two film studios over Watchmen has been settled? There was serious talk a few months back that the film may not see the light of day.
Mastodon is great, Smashing Pumpkins is great, Muse is great, the graphic novel was great, and this movie will be fantastic.
