AND DID YOU FUCKING KNOW THAT THE “HAPPY” IS IN FUCKING QUOTES?!?

Dude. Did anyone else know that Scott Weiland has a new solo album coming out two days after the release of Chinese Democracy? What the fuck? I wonder what it’s like to be Slash this week. Seriously. Is he pissed off that these two assholes get to live? Scared of the success they might achieve without him? Does he even know the albums are coming out, or is too busy having tea with Ozzy? Does SCOTT even know that Scott’s album is coming out??? The mind boggles.

So, about that Scott Weiland album: it has the stupidest title ever. I’m not exaggerating. I literally can’t think of a stupider album title. It’s called “Happy” in Galoshes. Those quotes would seem to suggest that Scott isn’t really happy in galoshes, the same way there’s no such thing as chinese democracy. Weird! (I watch L O S T. Can you tell?)

ANYWAY, the entire album is actually streaming on Weiland’s MySpace page. It’s actually better than I thought it would be. I mean, it’s brazenly bland and confidently cheesy, but I don’t mind cheesy so much, and some of the choruses are kinda catchy. I think Vince might argue me on this one – he’s a much bigger Weiland fan than I am – but really, “not as bad as I thought it would be” is the best I’m prepared to offer right now. (Side note: Weiland’s lyrics actually make more sense when he’s strung out. Double weird!!!)

But on a serious note: I just wanna say “mazel tov” to Weiland for still being alive five months after I saw him give the most embarrassing performance I’ve ever seen in my friggin’ life. Didn’t think you’d make it, buddy. So lemme ask you this: whatcha got against galoshes?

and the award for best tag goes to…

    Metalsucks for “junkie fuckhead”

After listening to the first half of this album, I can’t say this is going to be an essential purchase. I would be curious to know which tracks were produced by Steve Albini, though.

These should be great times for Slash. Velvet Revolver no longer has a record label to hold him back. He can do whatever he wants!

    the junkie fuckhead tag rules.

He’s supposed to play a Christmas show for a radio station here in Philly next month, which has the potential of being a big disappointment for said station. I don’t think they get the net over there.

It’s actually not too bad of an effort. Considering “12 Bar Blues” sucked donkey dick. Did anyone else notice the cover of “Fame” (Bowie)?

    “junkie fuckhead” indeed!!!

    That line was brilliant.

  8. I skipped through some of the songs on myspace and gave it a half-listen. I have to say it was pretty fucking awful. I kind of like his voice and some of his older work, but there was no need for this album to exist, other than to be a fuck-you to Slash. Best part about it was his cover of Bowie’s Fame, by far.

The real question is Scott Weiland has a new album coming out, does anyone care? Just another dude who squandered his talent with a needle.

they played a song on my local rock station and it was freakin’ terrible. I almost threw up. Thank god people voted it away

I saw scott w/ Velvet Revolver two summers ago, about 6 months before he quit/got fired from the band. He seemed relatively coherent. Clearly he has gone waaayyyy downhill since then.
