BEST TOUR OF EARLY 2009. TOO SOON?
Thursday, November 20th, 2008 at 12:55pm by Vince Neilstein
What was already shaping up to be one of the most exciting tours of early 2009 just got even better. The North American jaunt, headlined by Soilwork with support from Darkane and Swallow the Sun, just added North Carolina’s princes of gloomy-death-doom Daylight Dies (read Chris Roddy’s glowing review of Lost to the Living) in place of Warbringer, who were forced to drop off due to recording obligations. It’s not that we don’t like Warbringer — in fact, they’re one of our collective favorite bands of the current re-thrash movement — it’s just that… dude, Daylight fuckin’ Dies!! And Swallow the Sun! On the same bill! Headlined (finally!) by a newly re-Peter Wichers’ed Soilwork!! Dude.
Head exploding. For serious. Full list of tour dates after the jump.
Soilwork, Darkane, Swallow the Sun, Daylight Dies (dates taken from Soilwork’s MySpace page. Please ignore the set times. I’m too lazy to remove them.)

not too early at all, as Soilwork on damn near ANY tour would justify that statement.
I saw Soilwork with DevilDriver, Killswitch Engage, and Lamb of God at Memorial Hall in Kansas City last year, and even though I was blind stinking drunk before Lamb of God and Killswitch Engage came on, I do remember that Soilwork was fucking awesome.
I fucking hate cincinnati man. NO good metal bands come through anymore.
I’m going to the detroit show! 2nd on the tour, baby. It’s close to first, and that makes it super awesome.
Defintiely hitting this in march in San Fransisco. Also neat is Soilwork is letting the fans pick the setlist for the tour on their website.
@Conduit
Hell yes man. Slim’s is the shit for metal shows too. I saw Scar Symmetry, Dark Tranquility, and Into Eternity there a couple years back and it was fuckin’ PACKED. I wouldn’t expect any less from this show either.
Ha ha, you like metal!
Wow!That is seriously awesome news.I dunno if I’ll call it the best, but it certainly an early contender.Than again, new albums from some of metal’s finest in the first 7 or 8 weeks of the year will make for interesting tours later on in 09.
Sorry but the Kreator tour and the Enslaved tour sound better than this.
What a brutal schedule unless I miscounted there are only 3 off days the entire tour. I live in Buffalo so it looks like I’ll get first crack at this in Rochester. I can’t wait to see Soilwork now that Wichers is back.
Darkane is the best thing about this tour. Fact.
This is going to be sick! My son’s band gets to open for them in Rochester.
