Why should we not celebrate a day for thanks? Maybe instead of being so focused on the religious connotation behind it, we should just accept it as a time where people can come together and be grateful. Sure it is a consumer driven day, what with supermarkets making a killer, but it forces families to actually come together. Yes it is terrible that we've come to this point as a society where a day must bring us together, but at least we gather and enjoy company. I mean I have completely turned my back on religion and i am a history major and even I am not as embittered about Thanksgiving as some are. Take five minutes and enjoy what you have instead of focusing on what the ACLU wants you to REMEMBER about the people who "started" Thanksgiving.
