Saturday, December 6th, 2008 at 1:10pm by Kip Wingerschmidt

Holler holler holler holler BURST. Will the Swedish outfit’s exploratory and expansive new album Lazarus Bird make my top-ten list of ‘08? Inquiring mindz will find out next week.

In le meantime, check out these opening tracks from the last two Burst records, and then go get ALL of them and roll the biggest gosh-darn joint of ‘08, and then…well, you know.

BURST - “Where the Wave Broke”, from Origo (2005)

BURST - “Undoing (Prey on Life)”, from Prey On Life (2003)

Thanks for introducing me to these guys!
Last time you wrote about them I went and bought Lazarus Bird and it is now one of my favorite cds

  2. Conduit says:

Dude, I wish more metalgaze post-chocolate bands would actually take the cock out and rock like these guys.

  3. ClosetMetalHead says:

Good picks. What a great fucking band!

  4. Shanetera says:

I disagree, I think Burst sucks. You guys could have done better.

  5. Twinkle Tits says:

exploratory and expansive new album…wtf you smoked way too much weed ! you want exploratory and expansive go listen to the Ulver (in the red) Track #6 on their myspace btw and then go get ALL of them and roll the biggest gosh-darn joint of ‘08, and then…well, you know.

  6. Carter says:

Forget these haters. Where the Wave Broke is the fucking shit. Vocals are unreal. They’re believable. I’m so sick of these bands with pitifully fake screams. And yes Twinkle Tits we alllll know Ulver is experimental… sigh…
