The co-option of metal culture into the common lexicon never ceases to amaze. Take this video posted on Metal Injection; whose idea was this? Who chose to match it with horribly inappropriate and insulting music? Maybe the joke’s on us and we’re the last to get it.

It really looks like they found a bunch of ragged metal guys off the street and told them ‘wear this, walk there, and come back… try to look glum’.     How do you make a black metal fashion show without playing ANY black metal? I mean, did the dude just check out some photos of black metal folks and then go from there?

    You know what? Black metal has a lot to do with image based fashion and I think this video proves to be a good replica of black metal. Music, in my opinion, should never be more then the music alone. If you have a loud personality, thats cool, but let it express itself through the music first. Black metal seems to me to be more image based then any metal bands, an on par with pop bands like Justin Timberlake or Brittney Spears etc.

    Who the fuck could have possibly thought this was a good idea? It looks like they found a bunch of heroine addicts and tried to see how stupidly they could dress them. What did any of this garbage have to do with black metal?
