NOISE ROCK REUNION FANTASY CAMP

Thursday, December 11th, 2008 at 12:00pm by Gary Suarez

OK, I’ll admit that I did a cartoonish double take over my Thanksgiving leftovers when I read that THE JESUS LIZARD ARE REUNITING “for a very limited series of live dates in 2009,” according to the band’s former label Touch & Go, which will also be reissuing four classic albums from the group. This news bodes well for noise rock enthusiasts following a robust year of notable reunions (Bailter Space, Killdozer!) and continues to see more such gigs this month from the likes of:

Boss Hog
- December 17, Bowery Ballroom (NYC)

Butthole Surfers
- December 12, Warsaw (NYC)
- December 30-31, The Fillmore (San Francisco)

Lubricated Goat
- December 18, Europa (NYC)

I’m so tickled pink that I’m contemplating tickling my own pink. So, uhh, when’s Fugazi getting back together?

For once I’d like to see a good band decide they’re only doing reunion shows in Boston. I guess Sam Black Church did it, but that’s about all I can think of.

  2. SWEET JESUS AND AMEN ON FUGAZI! For real, how much longer are they gonna, you know, spend time with their families for? I would assume their kids would understand how important it is that their fathers’ AWESOME, AWESOME band get back together on the road. They released their most ambitious– and arguably best– record right before they dropped off the face of the earth/ played in the Evens. We’ve had 7 years of Bush and no Fugazi? No wonder I’ve been so miserable!

Great news, and since the reunion consists of the original line up, you might want to post a photo of the original line up.

“I’ll kiss you on the lips, Kenny Rogers.”
