JUDITH PRIEST

Female-fronted Judas priest cover band? Sure, why the hell not.

I’m sure there are some really juicy Priest / Halford puns to be made here but I’m lazy / tired / drained to think of any right now. Have at it in the comments. Best one wins a kiss from Axl.

Halford rocks the tight-ass leather pants better than she does.

    Also: that’s a man, baby.

  • Fritz!

It sure as hell didn’t look good!!

  • Sacajawea

    Ummm, she sounded very manly.

I was waiting for someone to make a lesbian joke.

    Well, In b4 lesbian joke.

  • AnusApache

Well at least this singer digs chicks…

  • Mutt Weiler

It doesn’t matter. After seeing Tim Ripper Owens rule the fucking Priest in British Steel in the mid nineties some smoked up crack whore dressed like the Terminator from Rise of the Machines just ain’t cutting it!

  • Sammy

The GUY hits the high notes and the tranny stays low. Truly the land of suck.

  • Joe

Wow, if this was the start of their set then I don’t know how anyone could stick around the stage except for being transfixed/repulsed by that lead singer.

How do cover bands like this (ones that actually somehow garner a following) exist when the real band is still around and touring from time to time? Boggles mah mind. Its like going to the poster store and buying a reprint of a van gogh; sure it’s a neat picture but it misses the entire point of what makes the original so great.

  • Rui

    C’mon, it’s not a tranny! :)

Not actually as bad as I thought it was going to be.

  • Raging Skull

I don’t get tribute bands or whatever, but nothing I can do; I just don’t understand them.

About this particular video, I’m with Mike, it’s not as bad as I though it was going to be either. The lady’s voice was quite deep. I prefer that than a chick with a high squeaky voice butchering a song.

    A couple of things:

    1. I wouldn’t call this a tribute band. It’s more of a cover band. A tribute band would try to look and sound as close to the real band as possible (that includes the other members as well). She (um, he?) is OK, but she doesn’t sound that close to Rob Halford.

    2. I haven’t looked close enough yet to see an Adam’s apple or bulge in the leather pants. I checked out the band’s MySpace page as well as the singer’s other band’s MySpace page. It’s hard to tell whether this one is a tranny.

I’m going with the majority on this one; based on that clip my “Springer Sense” tells me that’s a man, baby. It wasn’t a terrible performance, but it was very stiff and lifeless.

i didn’t realize Dino Cazares formed a Priest cover band w/ Rodeo from season 1 of Rock of Love
