Seriously, everything is wrong. Let’s start with the fact that the accompanying bio uses every cliche in the book. Some choice nuggets include “taken the scene and turned it upside down” and “kicks it up a notch.” (”vicious breakdown” is also laughable). Similarly, the music itself indulges in every awful modern metal trend (like, really, all of them) and mashes them all up into one completely lifeless suckfest devoid of anything “lively.” And here’s the worst part of all; not only does the band call themselves “partycore” (Jesus Christ there are so many things wrong with this) but they take credit for having coined the term, as if this is a distinction.
And to think I just gave their MySpace plays a boost (already at “8,000 plays daily”!! zomg!!!) by telling all you fucks about them. Oh, the irony.

In the episode staring the singer of this band (the Sarah Jessica Parker look alike), he wanted to be “transformed” in the matter of a month from a fatXxXass to a male model.

When I first clicked on the link I was instantly taken back to my fond memories of local shows near my hometown. There is nothing like going to see A Life Once Lost and being blind-sided by these kinds of bands that are tacked on to the bill because they are “local.” Everything about this band is a turd-colored, bile-inducing cliche. Evidence: the wind-swept, Cobain hair which is in fact a slap in the dead face of that man, the tight little girl shirts, the gym shorts, and the minute-long breakdown intro of that first song. When I see little kiddies like these at the movie theaters I quite literally point and laugh. :)
First things first. This band is bad. Not like ear bleeding shitty. Just not good in any way shape or form.

To be honest, do any of this matter? Music is such a great thing because there’s so much of it. It’s cool to have opinions about it, but to be honest, no one is forcing you to listen to anything you don’t wanna listen to. Attila has been around for years, most of them are probably in their 20’s and they have never been a big name band. They are just starting to blow up now, and good for them since they’ve been working their asses off for a while. The most anyone may have ever heard of this band until 08 was when their singer was on MADE and dropped the name maybe 2 times like….3 or 4 years ago. I like this band to be honest, and I am not hating on the other people who are hating. But if you really like such superior music, go on a different website and write about things you like. Indulging in negative feelings is exactly what Attila is against, they just wanna have fun.

I only sadly stumbled across this site because I happen to know the band and think it’s hilarious that people are fueling their own jealousy of Attila through this site. And no, if you’re going to reply to this post with an immature “I bet you’re from the band!” then you’re just as ignorant as the author and the people who support his view.
For all of the people who are trying to fight for either side, maybe if you took time to use proper grammar and spelling I’d actually consider listening to what you have to say.
Attila is a band with talent and drive. You don’t think so? Great. Then you don’t have to listen to them, no one is requiring you to.
If you don’t like the music, fine. If you do, keep listening. If you don’t, stop bitching about it. If you do, learn how to make a sustainable point before posting online and further injuring your cause. If you’re all “so metal” grow some fucking balls, stop belittling yourselves, and learn how to support music you enjoy.
It appears as if the majority of the people on here who claim to be “true metal” fans are stuck in the past and can’t seem to accept that our world is not stationary; nothing stays the same forever. At one point in time, you may have been the most “hardcore” out there but “metal” doesn’t mean what it used to. It doesn’t mean that one version is more correct than another, they’re just different. If you enjoy bands that use pig squealing and drum machines, there’s no reason I can’t enjoy Attila or that they’re not talented with actual instruments.
Dave D, if you actually knew the slightest about what you’re trying to attack, you’d have realized that Attila has a quite large fan base and doesn’t need to make up people as their defense.
And to this website itself– at least get some writers who can form a coherent article without making themselves look like total tools. There are some really eloquent people who can write well; though I’m sorry to inform Vince Neilstein that he is not one of them. Listen nameless Attila member(s): there’s a reason why most people on the metalsucks board aren’t supporting what you are doing. A lot of it has to do with the level of recognition you’ve received for, willingly or unwillingly, supporting some kind of gimmick with your music. Look at what happened to Horse the Band with “nintendo metal,” or whatever that was.
And that doesn’t sit well with people who are trying to support bands with no agenda, who receive far less attention from record labels and through “myspace credibility.” Metal is all about honesty, and for a lot of people I think you guys come off as trying to exploit whatever trend is driving the industry. Apparently it is really unthreatening looking teenagers injecting hip hop or whatever into Suffocation riffs. Have you heard of them?
People just want to see a genuine appreciation for the music they love. They see you kids coming out of nowhere and they are just confused, they don’t see how you fit into their conception of metal. It happens all the time, it happened with melodic death metal earlier in this decade. Don’t take it the wrong way. But an adult, and learn to take criticism. People are very fickle with music taste, especially if there isn’t a lot of substance there. If you want to survive in this industry, you might want to consider something a little more artistically satisfying. Just a suggestion. Anyway, keep doing what you want. It’s just music.

Death Metal musicians are actually supposed to MASTER their instruments (Origin, Nile, Death, Brain Dril) If you’re just starting out and don’t know how to play and arrange music together, you’re a PUNK band. Breakdownsa are crap and are an easy way to SOUND heavy without actually being any good. Yes I’m a drummer and my band never got signed but I at least toured and made some demos back in the day when bands had to pay their dues before they got signed. Both my gutarists got killed in a car accident in ‘89 so that ended us. I chose to discontinue but I know I couls still kick aNY of these pussies asses any day.

But anyway, I did this video for them and they took what i thought would be a fairly fun concept of a zombie attack, and made it a fucking joke. They were like “let’s do something hilarious at the breakdown part” and i was like…. you have to be fucking kidding me. Then they hired their friends to be the zombies… all the while they were bitching about it being too hot out. Rock start attitudes for a shitty local band. They’re all in this same kind of scene. Supposedly tongue in cheek scenesters. You’re an embarrassment to your families and to whatever higher power there is.
Another thing that makes me sick is the photographers in their scenes who think they’re going to have jobs in concert photography…. and they fucking suck. I hate this scene. I hate them more than I hate half the people on this site.

They’re just a Death-Scene-Core band. If that’s what they enjoy and choose to write and perform on a concert basis, then so be it. I know there are FAR worse metal bands that deserve the “Shitstain on the Ass of the Universe” moniker.

This band is definitely on the image train, no matter how much they or their fans deny it. Unfortunately their fans are in denial about the fact that they aren’t unique in any way.

Okay, from what I hear, I hear absolutely nothing original. Nothing. Now, there’s nothing bad with unoriginality as long as its done well (IE Municipal Waste, Sahg, etc) but this is just really boring. I’ve heard way more creative deathcore bands (After the Burial, The Faceless) and they just do it better then these guys. They do have some cool moments, and I’ve heard way worse vocals, but all I really hear on the guitar parts are the generic down tuned Gothernburgers with Fries and a Suffocation Breakdown. There are some interesting grooves in there, but they don’t seem like they fit at all. The ending to “Lemme Get A Newport” is also sorta cool, I guess, but not amazing on any level. The songwriting is just EXTREMELY boring. And finally, I don’t know how the hell anyone is able to party to this. The gimmick seems to be the worst aspect about this band.
In conclusion, Atilla aren’t downright horrible, but plain mediocre. They have some cool Soilent Green grooves in their that I really like, but they just go back to the Gothenburg/Suffocation shit everyone is doing. There is a chance this could grow on me, but theyed first have to loose the party gimmick and stop looking like douches in their band photos (sorry dudes, but you do. No offense). I’m gonna go listen to some Down now, I can actually party to them.

HAHAHA, this was awesome. Hilarity at its best. First I must respond to Joshua for assuming I am white trash because of my name. You sir…are an idiot…Do you really assume that I use my real name on here? Oh wait you did so that means everyone did, that’s right. And second, Straight Edge is a movement, or it was supposed to be, before it became watered down by all these kids who have no idea what it really means. I personally think it is a disgrace for a member of a band that wrote an entire CD around “partying” to flaunt that shirt. That’s the problem with this music. There is no substance, it’s all image. That is the majority of metalheads problems with this type of music. As much as you say it is real, it’s not. This guy is wearing a straight edge shirt, but does not lvie straight edge. That would be like Mayhem coming out wearing a WWJD shirt. The lyrics off this cd could be interchanged with any pop band out there. Just take the screaming away and autotune some singing and there you go…it would be the club hit of the summer. Actually, maybe they should do that, they might be more accepted in that form.
And finally…it blows my mind that Atilla’s fans think because we don’t like Attila, taht we must not like any kind of new music. That is the opposite I feel. All my metal friends and myself are constantly searching for new great bands, but our search is constanly interfered with by bands such as this, who will be gone in another 2 years.

I don’t know what partying has to do with their music, especially since their lyrics are a joke, when I hear lamb of god or napalm death I wanna party, although not in the same way, but their lyrics have something to say, so apart from that their isn’t a whole lot left apart from some generic riffs and drumming, which you can hear on the radio… if you are in to that kind of thing

I grew up with these guys. We went to the same high school. Chris Fronzak (their front man) went on MTV Made just so he could get Attila’s name out there. Ingenious, right? Too bad they’re fucking awful. Every guy in that band changed as soon as they started “making it” and playing to sold out clubs and venues across the states because everyone wanted to see “the boy who was on Made”. I’m sorry. Just because you were on TV and thousands of people know who your band is doesn’t make you good. Another trend. If you want to invent a genre named “partycore” then Every Time I Die would be the pioneers of that sound. Not Attila. As far as I’m concerned, these guys blow donkeys for quarters. Both of their albums are atrocious. “Fallacy”? That whole album was a fallacy. Pig squeals and all.

Ok, from what I’ve gathered. We know Atilla sucks. They think they’re original for basically doing the same shit every other -core band has been doing for the last decade and then swapping the piss poor emotive lyrics with “PARTY LYRICS BECAUSE WE LIKE TO HAVE FUN.”. The only reason they got popular with the rest of the “scene” is because their vocalist decided he wanted to be a male model. (Something I can’t fault him for, I mean, he’s got goals for change, whatever.) That doesn’t make his band suck any less.
The members of Atilla (I’m willing to bet its just the vocalist.) decide to come up here and do the usual. “FUCK EVERYONE THAT SAYS WE SUCK” stance and the typical “THANKS FOR THE MYSPACE HITS” which is basically the equivilent of a trolling victim saying that they aren’t affected by the internet trolls. Which is stupid because if they really weren’t affected, they would simply let people talk shit and do the “Let the music speak for itself” thing. I mean, if you were truly a good band that did it for the fans, you wouldn’t give two shits. By not giving two shits, I mean not responding to this blog post PERIOD.
