FUCK THE ALBUM COVER, AT LEAST THE MUSIC SOUNDS GOOD

Someone e-mailed me the other day to tell me how shitty the cover art for the new Cannibal Corpse album is (I know there’s at least one major grammatical error in that last sentence, but fuck it.). And they’re not wrong; it’s not Iron Maiden’s Dance of Death bad, but we know that CC are capable of so much more.
Still, I don’t really give a fucking fuck, because Amazon has thirty second samples of all the songs from Evisceration Plague, and it sounds friggin’ BR00TAL. Not that I expect anything less from Cannibal Corpse (and their producer, Erik fucking Rutan, natch), especially coming off the heavy as hell Kill. Still, you should check it out.
I was hoping I’d get to hear this album before the end of ‘08, but looks like I’m stuck waitin’ til ‘09.
Evisceration Plague will be out Metal Blade on February 3.

That cover art is pretty fucking lame. I’m sure the music is fine considering what it is. Call me crazy but maybe it’s time for Cannibal Corpse to call it a carear.
Yeah, I’ve heard a few other people tell me the cover is pretty lame. All I can say is that it’s better than the cover for “Kill”.

Are you kidding El? God Forbid’s new album art is some of the best artwork I’ve seen on an album! I like it better than John John Baizley’s stuff.
This artwork frankly pisses me off. There are a lot of struggling artists that would kill to make an album cover for CC, and this is the kind of thing they choose?
That cover is fine. Plus, there is going to be gnarly gruesome artwork on the inside apparently. I guess it’s kind of like a hot chick who doesn’t wear revealing clothing…you have to take it home and open up the packaging to see the good stuff.

since when has Cannibal ever been solely about album covers? its the music that really matters in the first place. as long as their covers don’t have bunnies and candy canes, it doesnt matter.

What the fuck? From the first time I layed my eyes on it, I thought that was an exceptionally awesome album cover. Maybe I’m fucked in the head.
This cover and the Kill cover make it seem to me that CC is sick and tired of having their albums banned. Some countries don’t even allow CC to play some of their material live as if someone going to a CC show is going to be offended. Kill was awesome so I’m looking forward to the album regardless of the cover art.
I think it is quite bitchin! I see it as an evolution in their art. It is definitely CC but well polished. Plus the music is sik!

Evisceration is the removal of internal organs, especially those in the abdominal cavity. If you didn’t notice that the billy idol looking dude appears to have a scalpel in his hand. The guy on the left also has his abdominal organs removed. The album cover may not be as gory as you mayexpect from CC, but they at least have an ablum cover that goes with the name of the album
1 – El is retarded.
2 – It’s not as gory, but agreeing with everyone else, Kill was a pretty good album and the cover for that was kinda dumb.
3 – Not for nothing, but the artwork for the DVD was pretty fuckin intense.

I think you’re right. Cannibal Corpse has taken so much shit from all the soccer moms, P.T.A. parents and ice cream social families over the years. They are tired of hearing from people like Joe Liberman and Bob Dole about how their music “violates human decency.” Did anybody see the senate hearing about violence in music, with senators reading verbatim lyrics from songs like Fucked with a Knife, etc. It’s ridiculous…
Violent album art or not, you have to respect CC. 20 years of fucking brutality. Whoever is saying they need to call it a career – you suck. Kill is fucking badass, in fact it’s my favorite album of theirs. They are at the top of their game. needless to say i’m looking forward to this new album
