I think it fuckin’ slays and it sounds just like Lamb of fuckin’ God. Having heard the new album Wrath (February 24th) in its entirety over the weekend I can say that a) this track is a pretty good indicator of what the album sounds like on the whole, b) the whole album fucking kills, c) the album also sees the band expanding a bit outside their previous comfort zone (and this is a good thing).

First off I am not comparing these 2 bands Lamb of God is head and shoulders above the other but this song is a lot alike Bleeding Through’s – “Orange county blonde and blue”. Listen to the opening 30 seconds of each. When I heard ” Contractor’” it reminded me right away of that track…..anyways the song is good then turns great towards the end.

Well at first I was going to bash this new song before hearing it, based on recent Lamb of God songs from Sacrament.”Redneck” was an atrocity. I figured it would be the same ol’ shit, if not worse. But holy crap this new song is very good and went above and beyond my expections. Kudos, Lamb of God, now you’ve got something to live for.

FINALLY, a band that can back up the fucking hype on saying their new album will slay.
I didn’t really like the beginning, it was kinda just bland and fast and then about 30 seconds in it was just like BAM I’M BADASS and stays that way the rest of the song. The end is sick.

I’ll have to agree with everyone on this. That shit sounds like it’s straight off of New American Gospel but with an obvious taste of progression. I love how Lamb of God continues to explore new ground with every album.

Did you forget which band we’re talking about? Because last time I checked, Lamb of God can throw some catchy, yet still punishing shit at you at the drop of a dime.
Lamb of God is a fuck you to everyone who thinks shit isn’t br00tal enough. They are one of very few bands that stay as heavy as they are and still find time to change it up a little. Fish, you sound exactly like the people you’re talking shit about. Just because it IS br00tal doesn’t mean it sucks either.
I think it is bad.
I think this track is top quality- sitting somewhere in between “New American Gospel” and the older Burn The Priest stuff in terms of the synergy between speed and sludge. Vocals are fairly fuckin’ cool also. Got some tickets to see these guys at all their English shows in February, because I a) have no life and b) cannot wait for Wrath.

To enjoy the subtleties of Lamb of God’s progression from album to album, you must be able to look past your like/dislike of individual songs and look at the overall feeling evoked by those songs in creating the dominant mood of each album. Pantera’s “Vulgar Display of Power” has some of the greatest metal songs ever, but those individual songs do not make the album. All of the songs together make the album. The same could be said for Maiden’s “Powerslave”. The album, itself, arguably, is shit without “2 Minutes to Midnight” or “Rime of the Ancient Mariner”, but that’s not the point. The point is that those two songs do not make “Powerslave” the metal equivalent to Michael Jackson’s “Thriller”, as stated on Amazon. It takes the other songs to make it what it is.
Metal is about power. Whether you want to slay dragons, kill the haters of metal, or kill a busload of nuns, once thing remains the same: EACH DESIRE RELIES HEAVILY ON THE NEED TO FEEL POWERFUL! That’s what metal evokes in us all. That’s what makes us jump into pits and get the fuck kicked out of us. That’s what makes us laugh when that one dumbass gets caught in the middle of a wall of death. It’s the power we feel when we clinch our fists and scream ,”Fuck Yeah!” because the song moves us to. This song, in short, makes me want to donkey-punch all of the assholes who focus too much on the simple nuances of individal songs instead of the entire album. When you listen to the song, do you understand that there is a dominant mood created? Do you understand that it will carry over into the entire album?
Lamb of God is getting older. They have certainly grown since Burn the Priest. This song marks a change in their progression. Allow them to make that change. Metallica was allowed to do it. Judas Priest was allowed to do it. Even Pantera was allowed to do it. Don’t disrespect a band merely because of one song.
They’re called albums, folks, not a host for a few good songs supported by some mediocre, filler shit. I’m sure that’s not what the band intends to release. They want to release what they project: something powerful, something raw, something real. This song is simply a representation of that. So, before passing judgement, wait for the final product, get over yourselves, and stop believing that one song makes an album.
By the way, this song just made “Sacrament” its bitch. All hail the return of old Lamb of God!

This song almost seems like two songs.sounds ike the first half was a tribute to old metallica, and the second half was them trying to sound like themselves

I am a big Lamb of God fan and love their music. I would have to say my fave album is SACRAMENT. After listening to this song, I think it is very mediocre, that just didn’t ‘grab me’. Very different from their recent stuff (which isn’t a bad thing, either) and just didn’t have the substance that they usually deliver. I am still unsure of Randy’s vocals and on this particular song, …. well…… it’s worse! BUT I am still hanging for this albums release and will NOT judge the whole album on only one song. This is just my opinion. Keep It Metal !!!!!!

I have heard this entire album as well, except some tracks did not have all the vocals. This is a great in your face track, and the rest of the album will murder you as well. Just not in the same exact way this track does. The rest of the album has something for every Lamb Of God fan, and definitely shows their ability to continue to grow, yet not lose sight of what has brought them to where they are. It’s definitely more raw as a whole, but you will hear the “catchiness” that has made there albums stick in every metal fan’s head.

FUCKING AWESOME. I loved this song.
Its not all about the originality. This isn’t a song that music journalists will describe as “ushering in a new era of metal”, it’s just a hard fast and brutal song, it probably won’t be to historically significant in metal. But that doesn’t make it any less awesome. The “WOOOO” in the beginning of it is what you are supposed to feel. They released it to get people pumped for Wrath and into the stores on the 24th.

Listen to the riff in the first 25 seconds. I call that thrash. Definitely some metalcore influence, but I like that.

I think the interval the guitar plays between the FUCKING and -TEED and SOMEBODY WILL and BLEED is what sells this song for me. The slow breakdown gets a little old IMO But the fast riff at 2:15 and at 2:35 is what I love about LoG, maybe not original, but they still nail it with that shit.
