i’m sorry lamb of god but you took the wrong turn for my tastes…sounds to bland imo and recorded kinda weird.

Its not all about the originality. This isn’t a song that music journalists will describe as “ushering in a new era of metal”, it’s just a hard fast and brutal song, it probably won’t be to historically significant in metal. But that doesn’t make it any less awesome. The “WOOOO” in the beginning of it is what you are supposed to feel. They released it to get people pumped for Wrath and into the stores on the 24th.

“fast” and “heavy”- this is thrash (more or less). last time i checked that is the main appeal of it.

Listen to the riff in the first 25 seconds. I call that thrash. Definitely some metalcore influence, but I like that.

I think the interval the guitar plays between the FUCKING and -TEED and SOMEBODY WILL and BLEED is what sells this song for me. The slow breakdown gets a little old IMO But the fast riff at 2:15 and at 2:35 is what I love about LoG, maybe not original, but they still nail it with that shit.

Metal is about power. Whether you want to slay dragons, kill the haters of metal, or kill a busload of nuns, once thing remains the same: EACH DESIRE RELIES HEAVILY ON THE NEED TO FEEL POWERFUL! That’s what metal evokes in us all. That’s what makes us jump into pits and get the fuck kicked out of us. That’s what makes us laugh when that one dumbass gets caught in the middle of a wall of death. It’s the power we feel when we clinch our fists and scream ,”Fuck Yeah!” because the song moves us to. This song, in short, makes me want to donkey-punch all of the assholes who focus too much on the simple nuances of individal songs instead of the entire album. When you listen to the song, do you understand that there is a dominant mood created? Do you understand that it will carry over into the entire album?

Lamb of God is getting older. They have certainly grown since Burn the Priest. This song marks a change in their progression. Allow them to make that change. Metallica was allowed to do it. Judas Priest was allowed to do it. Even Pantera was allowed to do it. Don’t disrespect a band merely because of one song.

They’re called albums, folks, not a host for a few good songs supported by some mediocre, filler shit. I’m sure that’s not what the band intends to release. They want to release what they project: something powerful, something raw, something real. This song is simply a representation of that. So, before passing judgement, wait for the final product, get over yourselves, and stop believing that one song makes an album.

By the way, this song just made “Sacrament” its bitch. All hail the return of old Lamb of God!

Am I missing something. This isn’t all that great, and I love LoG. Bit disappointed after reading all the hype on this page. Still, not a bad song and good to know there’s an album on the way!
