ACE FREHLEY’S WEBSITE: HOPELESSLY STUCK IN 1996
Tuesday, January 6th, 2009 at 12:00pm by Vince NeilsteinHave you guys seen Ace Frehley’s website? Shit is fo’ real. 1996 called, and it wants its website back. Words like “geocities,” “angelfire” and “AOL hometown” come to mind, fresh on the cutting edge of the Information Superhighway. It’s all here, folks: stock astronomy imagery, cheesy photoshop text effects, animated .gif icons, mystery navigation… the mind boggles.
We know this because we got an email announcing that he’s released the artwork for his forthcoming album Anomaly, his first since 1989’s Trouble Walkin’. We left a message with 1989 seeking comment, but it has yet to return our call.

lol
just lol
Dead on Vince. I was thinking the same exact thing when I first saw that shit. Don’t forget about Tripod though!
I checked this site out a couple weeks ago. It’s so dated it really is mind boggling that it is new. I am pretty sure most 6th graders these days could make a better web page.
It’s like Ace picked up a copy of “Websites for Dummies” from 1996 and went from there.
I love Ace, and vintage Ace is the best, but if you’re going to taut that your “New Website” is coming soon… well, I can’t add anything that hasn’t already been discussed. His old site was horrible, this one is WORSE! And what’s with the art for his new album?? My favorite quote from a recent interview with Ace:
“Basically, I’m trying to get back into the mindset I was in when I did my first solo record [1978's 'Ace Frehley']. That record seemed to have all the elements everybody liked — a real cool instrumental, a hit single, some real heavy rockers, a nice variety of different genres of music.”
Great. He sounds like everybodys grandpa trying to “sell” the young kids a happening new rock album. The only problem is, he was hip almost 30 years ago! I wsh him well, but it don’t look too promising.
As a professional web developer I am horrified.
Upon further investigation I was also blown away that this site was done using Cascading Style Sheets.
It almost seems like the designer truly knew what he was doing yes intentionally made it look outdated.
Frehley’s Comet!
haha, so similar to bobby rockets/rock/wateva/nitro drummers website
more like “information super driveway”
The website actually froze my computer for 10 seconds
Blood, Sweat, & Tears has a more up-to-date website…
What else do you expect from this New York overrated ditch pig?
