Can a band really be credited with releasing a “full length” album when it’s only a half an hour long including the two filler tracks? As far as I’m concerned JFAC has yet to release a true album, and so far all they’ve got to their name is a few singles and some B-sides.

I never been a huge death metal fan but I recently downloaded Genesis and it’s pretty damn good especially for a bunch of teenagers. Hopefully these guys will be around a long time. I look forward to seeing how they mature over the next few albums. And to the haters who bitch now that JFAC have gained some popularity– Fuck you. The test for a metal band to me is the music not how many people like it. Metallica was once a local band too. Argue over the quality of the music but a band doesn’t automatically suck just b/c a few more people become fans since that is kinda the point of releasing an album and touring. Being worshipped by a handful of fans is great but if any band is going to last they have to be able to make a living doing it. Way too many really good metal bands fall by the wayside b/c they can’t make ends meet robbing us all as metal fans. I didn’t stop listening to Metallica b/c they became popular, I stopped listening b/c they stopped playing metal and it’s all about the music. JFAC are young enough to bring us great metal for years to come so don’t hate ‘em unless the music sucks and so far it hasn’t.

It is all relative with JFAC.

DOOM was a great experiment,

Genesis is a great first full release,

and if all the songs on the next album are as crushing as “Constitutional Masturbation” then the next album will just enslave us all in its glory.

and when you think about it, they’re much better for the change. Gone are the faggoty pig squeals and breakdowns. Sure, they’ve still got detractors, but I’m quite sure they’ve got fewer detractors, and they’ll have less detractors as long as they keep growing into a solid death metal band.

I love how Jonny Davy basically says Doom was a piece of shit, that takes some balls and proves that these guys are humble enough to accept criticism, and judging from Genesis, wise enough to apply it.

these guys are awesome. i hated them originally, but after listening to the 2nd album more and more, it grew on me. so brutal.
