CRAPPY HAMPERS

2008 was pretty good for Gods And Queens, given the not-insignificant recognition their “untitled” Robotic Empire debut received, including the #19 slot on Decibel’s year-end Top 40 Extreme Albums list as well as the #9 spot on my own list.

Now that 2009 has arrived, the trio has put together a particularly extensive series of tour dates, much to the delight of this noise rock enthusiast. After a handful of Northeast U.S. gigs in January and early February, the band will regroup in April for a month-long European Springtime slog and a subsequent proper American tour in May and June. In anticipation for these dates, I recommend checking out their label’s new blog Robotic Obscurities, which recently shared the debut’s lyrics alongside some rare and unreleased music from Gods And Queens as well as frontman Jamie Getz’s short-lived project Versoma.
