NEW ENGLAND METAL AND HARDCORE FESTIVAL LINE-UP WILL ROCK YOUR BALLS (OR BOOBS) OFF

It seems to me that there’s an increasing number of worthy metal fests here in the States – Maryland Deathfest and the new, totally free, totally awesome Scion Rock Fest both spring to mind – but the New England Hardcore and Metal Fest, in which seemingly every awesome spring tour will converge up Worcester, Mass for two days of cock rocking br00tality, is probably still the most presitigious.
The fest – which will take place April 17 and 18 – has announced its line-up for the year, and, as per usual, it’s pretty frickin’ sweet. Check it out…

I can honestly say that I only listen to 5 bands on that list — Suffocation, The Haunted, Napalm Death, Intronaut and Cattle Decapitation. I hate the NEMHF anyways, so it’s not a big deal, but that’s not a good ratio for good-to-shit bands.
I notice Nachtmystium isn’t on the bill, yet the other 3 bands on the tour are.

Saturday will be headlined by metal giants Lamb of God as part of their No Fear Energy Music Tour along with As I Lay Dying, Children Of Bodom, God Forbid and Municipal Waste.

This is, hands-down, THE WORST LINE-UP in NEMHF history.
Granted, it was a lot of BREEEEEEE-core last year, but at least solid performances by Heaven Shall Burn, Behemoth, Trap Them, Dimmu Borgir, Soilent Green, and Hate Eternal made up for that fact.
This year is just horrible. Not even seeing Veil of Maya again would make me take the 2+ hour trek.

they should switch the days, but keep the headliners for each day the same. the first day line up with LoG headlining is a good line-up and should be the last day.

Friday definitely kicks Saturday’s butt, other than the headliner (is ATR really big enough to headline?! ugh). Missing Lamb of God and Withered would suck, but damn, there isn’t much else I would want to see on Saturday. Wait, looking again, Withered is on both days. (?)
On Friday I’d be hyped to see: DECREPIT BIRTH, INTRONAUT, KATAKLYSM, NAPALM DEATH
PSYCROPTIC, PSYOPUS, SUFFOCATION, THE ACACIA STRAIN, THE HAUNTED, TRAP THEM, WOE OF TYRANTS.
Before everyone gets their panties ruffled, lets assume they will add like a half dozen acts to each day…so hope for the best.

I like Bodom and Megadeth plenty, but I’d say that LOG has a good or better live show than both of the aforementioned. As for ATR, I agree, they shouldn’t be headlining; Napalm Death of even The Haunted would make more sense.
How many years has this show been running for only 2 days? I thought it was always a Friday, Saturday, Sunday deal.

I’ll end up going for the first day. The second day is full of boringcore and emmure. However really want to see Suffocation and Napalm Deaths, most of the Friday bands are pretty good so I won’t be dissapointed.(Hopefully)
If I was 17, I would be all over this lineup, but really, aside from Intronaut, and maybe 4-5 other bands, this is all generic kick-punch-bree music.

Hey Big day o’ metal in the early o’ spring, quite complaining and go to the tiny shit hole and listen to the ignorant as *expletive!* somethingcore…because it costs them a lot to make their jeans look a certain way and you might as well.
I understand the lack of interest in the second day. The only bands playing that day I would want to see are Animals as Leaders and Municipal Waste. That said, the first day isn’t too bad. Sure there are a ton of mallcore bands, but Suffocation, The Haunted, Napalm Death and Intronaut are all solid bands, and Decrepit Birth, Pscroptic, and Toxic Holocaust aren’t too shabby either. I’ve also been waiting for a second chance to see Kataklysm, and to see how Cattle Decapitation are live. As long as you leave before the end, day one seems pretty good to me.
@ SonOF: I believe the Palladium is where they got thrown off the Opeth tour for throwing a TV out of the building. If I’m wrong, please correct me. Still, I’m pumped to see them April 21.
For all you flat billed “hardcore” fans out there pay attention to This Is Hell. Thats what real hardcore is.
If The Faceless were on one of these dates I’d bust.
On the fest’s site it says Nachtmystium IS playing Friday, so that’s a good thing.
Everyone’s Acting as if this is a spectacular line up, I personally think it’s okay but it gets great when you realize Yall forgot that As I dying, Children of Bodom, God Forbid and Municipal Waste will all be there on Saturday too. Check the Palladium website.
