THE FACELESS TRANSITION FROM ONE MIND BLOWING TOUR TO ANOTHER

One of the many stories we didn’t actually get to discuss this week is the news that The Faceless are the latest metal act to be banned from The Disney-owned House Of Blues in Anaheim, California. Oddly enough, their tour mates in Meshuggah and Cynic were not banned; what makes The Faceless any more (or less) offensive than Meshuggah or Cynic is kinda beyond me (Also beyond me: why people keep booking metal shows at this club that has repeatedly acknowledged it wants nothing to do with metal. But I digress.).

But the dudes in The Faceless can take consolation in these two facts:

  1. Walt Disney was a Nazi cock sucker.
  2. Immediately following the conclusion of their jizz inducing tour with Meshuggah and Cynic, they will HEADLINE their own jizz inducing tour with Arsis, Misery Index and The Tony Danza Tap Dance Extravanganza.

In all fairness, I don’t actually know very much about TTDTDE, and even though their name leads me to believe I should probably hate them, someone I trust told me they’re great, so I’ll give them the benefit of the doubt. And besides: with The Faceless presumably playing a full set AND Arsis AND Misery Index, this tour is clearly already worth the price of admission.

Of course it’s coming nowhere near NYC so neither Vince nor myself can attend, but for the rest of you, here’s the itinerary:

2/21-Fayetteville, NC @ Jester’s Pub
2/22-Raleigh, NC @ Volume 11
2/23-Atlanta, GA @ The Masquerade
2/24-Nashville, TN @ The Muse
2/25-St. Louis, MO @ Pop’s
2/26-Little Rock, AR @ The Village
2/27-Dallas, TX @ The Max
2/28-Houston, TX @ Java Jazz
3/01-Austin, TX @ Emo’s
3/02-Corpus Christi, TX @ House of Rock
3/03-Abilene, TX @ Rose Park
3/04-El Paso, TX @ Chic’s
3/06-Lancaster, CA @ Palmdale Vets Hall

tony danza tap dance extravaganza kick fucking ASS live! their live shows are very intense and their music is extremely not shitty and they will def hold their own on this bill…i’m so fucking excited i only have to drive 3 hours for this show!

  4. PD says:

I can’t decide whether the Meshuggah/Cynic tour or this one will be better. I guess I’ll “settle” with Meshuggah/Cynic seeing as how I’m in MI.

I guess that’s not really a bad thing that I’ll be able to see one of the two tours…I really want to see Arsis though – I’ve been to 2 shows where I couldn’t get in or they didn’t show up.

  5. Old Skool Metal says:

This is bullshit, no Phoenix date!?!?WTF

  6. dthrasher says:

glad to see that a new band member every month hasn’t slowed down Arsis at all. too bad the only CA date is in the middle of fucking nowhere.

  7. Matt says:

I’ll definitely be there for the Atlanta date. This makes up for there being no Meshuggah date. I’m listening to “Planetary Duality” right now and it’s melting my face off.

  8. CALIFORNIA METALFEST-MARCH 28
@ the Grove in Anaheim (F*K ANAHEIM) – i bet it gets relocated

    SUFFOCATION
    SAMAEL
    THE FACELESS
    WHITECHAPEL
    ARSIS
    DECREPIT BIRTH
    VEIL OF MAYA
    PSYCROPTIC

Inearly jizzed myself when i heard about this… also displeased bcuz MY BAND might already have a gig that nite somewhere else (I think we’ll cancel, as more then likely the crowd we’d want to check us out, will be at the MetaFest)

I was already really annoyed that I wasn’t going to be able to catch that ridiculously good Meshuggah/Cynic/Faceless tour, and now I see that this great show is not coming to my area (no New York?:/ ). Damn.

More power to the Faceless though, they are an amazing band, glad to see they get to play on some awesome bills (and even headline this Patrons of Destruction tour).

  13. james savage says:

Danza is amazing. If you haven’t given them a listen, then you should. Phenomenal musicians and truly great, humble guys with a pretty keen sense of humor. They will more than hold their own on this tour. Also, one of the best touring lineups I’ve seen in quite a while.

  14. sandwiches says:

shut the fuck up James. Seriously I would make love explosion if this came near me. and danza is the shit

  15. jonowev says:

What happened to their keyboarder? … saw them in San Fran last summer and lemme just say that ANY FACELESS SHOW WITHOUT “ALL DARK GRAVES” IS BULLSHIT! AAAAH

    Phew…

    But seriously, WTF?

  17. pooter says:

How dare you say Lancaster CA is in the middle of nowhere!! Its the Meth Capital of the USA.
