RUN TO THE HILLS! IN THIS MOMENT IGNORE OUR ADVICE, CONTINUE TO COVER CLASSIC METAL TRACKS

Less than a year ago I took it upon myself to tell the members of In This Moment that they really, seriously, no fucking around, needed to stop covering classic metal tracks. At the time, they’d already created lackluster versions of Slayer’s “Postmortem” and Pantera’s “I’m Broken,” and I’d like to think I wasn’t alone when I said “Enough is enough.”

Unfortunately, In This Moment really doesn’t give a fuck what I think, and I didn’t have the will power not to watch this:

At this point, it seems fairly clear to me that no power in the world can stop In This Moment from continuing to rape metal gems of the past for their own insidious purposes. I’d ask the Talking Metal dudes to please please please stop egging ITM on, but once you’ve appeared on television in a long sleeve nu-GN’R shirt butchering Maiden, you’re clearly at the point where nothing short of a full-scale intervention will do anything to sway you.

So I guess the only solution is for me to stop being such a glutton for punishment and just ignore it when In This Moment unleash their next cover upon the world. I can only hope that the destruction said cover does to our culture is minimal at best.

Let me put it this way, shes a chick, so its expected for the band not to be as “metal” as people would expect. also this was a decent cover. in this moment is not the worst band to ever do an iron maiden cover. in addition to that if you still don get it, remember when FALL OUT BOY COVERED PANTERA’S WALK? THAT WAS THE WORST MOMENT IN METAL HISTORY. so quit being a mindless douchebag and be a real metalhead and quit saying shit sucks and start bandwars. if you hate it that badly then dont post shit or go kill yourself.

    I’ve taken shits that sounded better than that. Loud, angry, and messy ones. There are seriously, as mentioned above, only two reasons why this band is as popular as they are. They aren’t even particularly good reasons, either.

    I saw this yesterday. The one glaring problem is that this chick cannot sing even remotely good enough to do this song justice. Even with the shitty chorus and delay on her vocals, it falls very flat. Definately shows the limitations in her range.

    I don’t listen to this band, but I have a pretty negative view of them now. It was a very bad idea to release this video.

    Her voice doesn’t have the power and dynamics that are required for this song. She barely reaches some notes and you can even hear her voice give out in some spots.

    Saying that this is stupid is unnecessary. This is pretty much like what happened when those nu-metal idiots would dress up in a bunch of priest and motorhead shirts and talk about how they “like all the old stuff”. It’s a thinly veiled attempt at seeming cool and appealing to the older/wiser/tasteful crowd.

    What’s wrong with her voice? It’s fucking terrible! This did no justice to Iron Maiden. I don’t know why, but I honestly haven’t heard many females cover a song well at all. With males is all depends. I have no idea who this band is and I’m damn happy I haven’t heard of them before. The cover blows. Enough said and most agreed with everyone else who believes that these good for nothing “bands” shouldn’t “cover” the classics.

    In the band’s defense, all the covers you mentioned were done during the same jam session on Talking Metal. It’s not like they continue to do cover after cover.

    Great band, great cover. The “I’m broken” cover was amazing too. Same with “Postmortem”. Maria’s scream at 3:09 in Run To The Hills should make you fall in love with her, if it doesn’t, don’t ever talk about music again. ITM’s covers are on par or better than the original’s, ALWAYS. Obviously your opinions suck.
